As Malalath sits on the deck with his viol he watches the crew work and the other passengers come on the ship it's a verity of people and he is getting excited about the new land
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the work continues throughout the day and into the evening, off in a corner, some of the members not currently stationed keep themselves busy with a game of dice. They are playing pairs, where three dice are rolled and the highest pair wins the pot. No pair adds to the pot double the ante. 1 silver a play, 2 silver for no doubles. If two people roll the same double, the higher of the third die wins the pot. They invite any willing guest on the voyage to join in.
Bjoern: 5, 6, 4,
Elridge: 2, 3, 4,
Adolph: 3, 3, 4,
Laiael: 2, 5, 4,
Adolph, a gruff looking half-orc, snickers as he takes his 6 silver.
Helena watches the dice game for a bit, but has no desire to risk her funds on such. She would move away after watching a round, and look out over the rail of the deck instead. A small owl is seated on her shoulder, cocking its head this way and that, even turning it backwards, keeping an eye all around..
Malalath having seen Helena staring out to the ocean and the owl on her shoulder he decided to get up and go ask her what do you hope to find in the new lands for me it's inspiration to write never heard music and lore and become even more famous if that's even possible haha
Helena glances over as the other traveler approaches. "I did not catch your name back in the harbor master's office." Helena says, tucking some of her mousey-brown curls behind an ear, the wind immediately tugging it free once more. "I am Helena." She shrugs then. "As to the new world, I do not really know, but a saying i once heard seems appropriate... There are hordes of young foolish wizards, but few old and powerful ones." She gives a self-depricating smile. "Wizards have few options but to travel and gain experience through adventuring, at least if they want to become more powerful. Thus few of them live to actually become old and truly powerful."
Yes the name is Malalath Norcyne I'm sure you have heard of me he says with a bow I'm quite a famous Bard and sense we are traveling together you will become famous just by association isn't that wonderful he says boastfully with a smile on he's face looking out at the open sea
Flumfurkin notices the men playing dice and scampers over to him, with his tail switching back and forth. He will find something to climb up on so he can see over the men's shoulders. But, after watching them for about 10 minutes, the tabaxi gets bored and decides to move on and view other activities. He will continue to move around the ship, looking at all of the activity going on, and climbing over any goods present on the deck. He will frequently look up at the crow's nest, but, won't try to climb up there, yet.
Ultimately, he will end up at the bow of the ship, staring off into the distance and trying to see if he can spot the land they are heading towards.
Aura takes one watch at the game from afar, she then pulls up all the coins she had in a pocket and sees two silver pieces. Nothing else. She decides against betting all she had left.
Even though she wouldn't participate, Aura keeps her eye on the game while being decently far, not that it hid her gaze. Once she sees the Tabaxi leaving from the table, her eyes follow him instead. She follows his path with her eyes, and once he sets at the bow, she follows him herself. Although, she doesn't interact. Or at least, it takes her a second. She stays still and looks into the distance as well for at least a minute before she takes any actions.
After the first full nights travel, the wind begins to pick up midday. By evening, the ship is engulfed in a full storm. The waves rage against the side of the boat, dousing anyone nearby in heavy saltwater. Most of the crew pay it no mind. Their tar covered canvas clothes are designed specifically to wick off the water so it doesn't absorb and weigh them down. The captain takes to the wheel for most of the evening, then hands it over to Herondi, a female dwarf who serves as the ships pilot. "It's going to be a big one," the captain jeers and calls, his melodically tuned voice barely carrying over the sounds of the wind and the water. He heads to his cabin and turns himself in for the night.
As soon as the captain has gone into his cabin, anyone on the main deck hears three sharp long calls from Thinain's whistle. After a few moments, he repeats the same three notes. Any crew who isn't actively working to secure supplies or the sails rushes up to the main deck facing the quarterdeck. They do their best to stand at attention as the dwarf barks out orders in his deep, gruff voice. "Strike the sails, and raise the storm jib. Herondi's goin' to ride us the waves to a breach. Three crew shifts, as the captain says we'll be at this all night and then some. Might even last us the week. Adolph has crew one. Stanislawa has crew two. Pippy and Elridge have crew three. It'll be me or the captain in charge all times, so no slackin'."
Thinain turns to see if any of the adventurers are on the deck within earshot. "Oi, you want to prove yourselves useful, you can start early," he calls out soon after another wave crashes over the rails. "We have sails to change, rigging to secure. All belongin's that you want kept ought to be lashed down now. Anyone knows their way around the boat ought to prove it. Anyone else will want to stay below and hold on. Sleep's gonna be thin, so make it last."

Flumfurkin is excited by the rising storm at first, but, then as it becomes harder to keep his balance on the deck and he begins to get doused with water, he thinks better of being out in this rain and makes his way down to his bunk about the time the captain turned the wheel over to Herondi. Although the tabaxi thought he could climb the rigging as well as the sailors, or at least as well as them in calm weather, he had no desire to get his fur wet unless it was necessary. If he can't sleep, he will spend the night in the cabin trying to meditate.

Helena, at the first signs of the storm, would have headed below decks. She would be a little green-in-the-face already, more for worry of the storm at sea than the motion of the boat.
The tabaxi finds himself nearly swept away as the water crashes over the rails on the deck. Down in the bunk, his stomach churns and rocks every time the boat is turned. His fur coat soaks in the water, laying flat on his skin until it finally gets a chance to dry several hours later. Sleep is difficult, though he is able to meditate briefly. Outside the porthole he can see the waves continue to slam against the boat, going on to what seems like forever against the horizon.
Malalath - CON 6, Performance 21
Below decks, Malaleth is able to play a gentle tune on the viol. Though the storm rages far too loudly for the sound to carry outside the cabin, he and the other passengers are given a sense of calm by the music. Despite the regular interruption of the ships rocking, and his own stomach churning constantly, he carries forth through the melody.
Aura - CON 8, DEX 9
Above on the main deck, Aura is slammed by the regular waves. She is able to assist some of the young boatmen with the rigging on the sails, though the slick deck and the lack of proper sailing attire has her constantly slipping on the wet flooring. Before long, she is soaked to the bone in a bitter chill of salt water and brine. Her natural affinity to the air helps her from being further hindered by the storms accompanying winds.
Helena - CON 20
Down below deck, Helena keeps to the bunks and concentrates on rolling with the boat as it heaves through the water. She manages to keep her stomach intact and her last meal well inside, though the other three adventurers are having far less luck.
Ursala - No roll
The Firbolg, more used to the forest than the water, keeps to the bunks. She sleeps through the start of it, but before long finds it difficult to keep up with the constant rocking of the boat.
The storm continued to rage forth for several days as the crew continued to work in shifts keeping the 100-foot galley moving towards their destination. During the day, the sun was all but invisible behind the storm. At night, the moon remained obscured, providing no light but for the few secured lanterns on the deck that were protected from the water by thick glass panes. The boat heaved and tossed in the rising swell and the captain during the day, or Herondi at night, struggled to maintain their grip on the wheel. The captains years of sailing experience shone through as he smiled through the storm.
By the second night, the rain drops were whipping down like crystal shards, pelting anyone on deck. The crew had all wrapped themselves in heavy canvas cloaks, tar stained as were the rest of their clothes to keep the water from weighing them down. Lightning crackles in the distance, sending a flash of blinding light across the darkened sky. On a particularly high wave, one of the rigging ropes snaps. The sound echoes throughout the entire boat, top and bottom decks. A middle-aged Elven boatman finds himself caught near the rigging as the end of the rope slams into his chest, whipping him with all the coiled tension of the storm. He sails through the air over the railing into the murky depths of the sea.
Two nearby sailors pull up whistles from beneath their cloaks. They blow two long hard shrieks as another sailor grabs a round ring buoy lashed to a long rope and tosses it to where the Elf was seen entering the water. All the available crew scrambles over to help, searching for him to surface, all the while calling for Duah to whistle his position.
As they work to find and pull Duah back aboard, another set of sharp whistles, long, short, long, short, can be heard from the crowsnest. Anyone on deck hears the dreaded phrase "shapes in the water, forward on the port side, approaching fast."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After a huge struggle for her on trying to survive the tempest the first day, Aura started feeling exhausted, but that didn't change her motivation one way or the other, so when they need help the next day, Aura is there on the deck, trying to help again. Hearing about strange shapes appearing, the only thing she can do is trying to look through the storm and see if she can see it herself, or maybe even discover what it was.
