Bryn hears what Jormund yells, can’t believe it, and thinks, “Didn’t he see that the musician was changing while he was playing the instrument?!?!? I hope he’s knows what he’s doing.” He leaves the musician to Jormund for now and focuses his attention on supporting the one person he knows is an ally, Vedui. Bryn waits to see what swarm Vedui attacks and then attacks the same swarm with his bow.
Rowan finally pinpoints the source of the magic she was looking for earlier: a heavily-armed dwarf near the center of the square. She debates riding up towards him and asking about his powers or how he seems to know so much about what's going on, but quickly realizes that maybe now isn't the best time. She's just resolved to keep her eyes on him when she notices the rats swarming around his feet. She aims her next fire bolt there, hoping she doesn't hit the dwarf instead.
Ann takes to help the struggling dwarf as he fails to hit any of the rats. She tries to plunge her rapier against the swarm while trying to avoid being hit by the dwarf's misdirected attack, while also avoiding attacking him by accident.
Attack:6Damage:7 Piercing
(Welp. That's another one... I'm sure the rats must be secretly Divination wizards or something.)
Will move towards the rats in the market place that are on the rampage, continuing his stomping and kicking...he will scream in the direction of the three he sees fighting the swarm around the dwarf......"Get the musician to lead them out of town!....we won't be able to fight all of them..."
Bryn nocks an arrow and prepares to coordinate his strike with Vedui, dealing 4 damage to the rat swarm that has thus far been running rampant through the marketplace.
Vedui, seeing that there is only one swarm still freely rampaging through the market, falls on it with a maelstrom of fists and fury, dealing a total of 7 damage. He simultaneously calls out to the group to have the musician lead the rats away from the marketplace.
Rowan, excited at the prospect of meeting another magic user, rushes to his aid, hurling a firebolt at the rats swarming his feet, and dealing 1 damage.
Jormund, you swing your hammer for a mighty blow but are startled by a bolt of fire striking directly between your legs, and your hammer hits only pavement.
Ann, after quickly rushing to the aid of the dwarf and halfling shepardess, you attempt to kill a few more rats in this swarm, but they manage to elude your blade.
Jared (AFK Round), you continue to throw fruit at the rat swarm, attempting to distract it.
Quinry (AFK Round) will follow Ann's lead an attack the swarm near Jormund. 15 for 3 Damage if it hits.
End Round 4 PC
Begin Round 5 NPCs.
The musician is clearly rattled, but is continuing to follow Jormund's instructions and playing the pipe, keeping the attention of the rats on stage.
The two remaining rat swarms have both taken damage, but continue to wreak havoc in the square.
Jormund's swarm will continue to seek weak spots in his armored shell. Attack: 9 Damage: 5. If that hits please give me a constitution saving throw.
Meanwhile, Jared must've found the other rat's favorite treat, because the swarm by Vedui continue to attack the fruit on the ground, rather than the people assaulting them.
So there are two rat swarms in the market remaining, and the musician continues to hold the attention of the rest of the mass of rodents, at least for the moment. What do you do next?
After the attack hits, she looks over to the elf who called something out in her direction. "Are you sure about that? They'll get closer to other people on their way out if we try to get them out of town. I can handle them by myself if you're scared." She doesn't speak in a taunting manner, she seems quite serious, while also showing some concern for the safety of the elven stranger.

Jared
Jared will take a chair and make his way to the closest person being attacked by the swarm. Jared will swing the chair back and forth at the rats yelling, "Back, Back!"

Undeterred by the rats nipping and his own overswing, the dwarf whips his warhammer through the swarm to attempt a thorough smashing. "Get those laughs off yer little rodent faces..."

Vedui
Seeing no reaction from the others, Vedui will step away from the rats, eating the fruit, and attempt to make it to the musician....

(I'm hoping you didn't miss my direct response to your character in my last post. I'd call that response a reaction. Although, if you tell me you read it and then decided your character disagreed with mine, that'd make more sense.)

Yes, I saw response.....(Vedui just disagrees...maybe he's wrong, but i'm envisioning the pied piper leading the rats out of here....and me doing some meta on figuring both our magic users have used their big spells and the rats are taking half damage from melee attacks.......and maybe I missed how many packs were still there in thrall by the musician..

Gotcha. That makes sense. I was assuming they were probably 2-3 swarms that were left. Ann's attacks might be getting resisted, but the sheer numbers aren't that bad. Still, she might be wrong as well. I consider it a pretty bold statement to say she can handle all of them.
