Rowan nods. "Thankfully only one of us was affected."She nods towards Quinry and the black creeping up his arm. Then, she gestures for Harry to step forward. "Also, he was cursed by a set of magical pipes, and we were hoping somebody here might know how to undo it."
The mailed dwarf nods at the priest, "We agree. Trouble dunna look over." He tips his head back toward the crowd. "Looks like your troop could use some triage. Mind if I go organize your queue a bit by need and ask folks some questions?"
If the priest assents...
Jormund marches back to the head of the queue of people and booms out in a deep dwarven baritone, "Hallo, people seeking light & service! I am Jormund. I am helping with the problems from this morning. If I can have you form two lines. Everybody who's here for physical needs, healing, dying, manifested curses, and so forth, please move to the right—my left, here! If you're here only for counsel, comfort, and advice, please move to the left—my right, here! And anyone in either category who has information about mysterious men wearing red, maybe green or black, or knowledge about who may be involved in this morning's plague of rats, please raise your hand!"
Then Jormund will make mental note of the first 7-10 who raised their hand and go ask to hear their details. If Quinry or Harry's healing takes longer, he'll also start looking at the cases in the physical needs line, check each using his Medicine skill, and move anybody who doesn't have the illness and doesn't seem like they'll die soon further back in the line.
And if the priest does not assent to triage help...
Jormund nods at Rowan's requests, at Quinry, and at Harry-rat, and then starts to walk back through the crowd eyeing people and asking anybody who looks like they want to talk if anybody saw anything useful... trying to be patient with all the flustered, flitty humans.
While working Jared will say: "Hey Boris, did you hear all about what happened this morning?" he asks. Jared will wait for a response. After Boris responds Jared will move a bit closer to his boss and in a lowered voice. "You ever hear of any Thay folks running around here or anything about a set of pipes that curse the user?"
Boris replies "Aye Jared, I heard of the mess made by the swarm of rats in the market, and how somebody led them out of town with a pipe and a group of fools trying to get themselves killed for the town's take. Were you a part of that? You don't look so good." As he points to your shredded pants and bloody legs.
"And what's this about Thay? I haven't had any travelers from that undead loving, autocratic, depressing excuse for a kingdom in a while. Why do you ask?"
"Either way, I don't want you to be showing up for work bloody, leaking in the soup and whatnot. Get yourself patched up and I'll mind the shop in the meantime, yah fool boy."
Rowan nods. "Thankfully only one of us was affected."She nods towards Quinry and the black creeping up his arm. Then, she gestures for Harry to step forward. "Also, he was cursed by a set of magical pipes, and we were hoping somebody here might know how to undo it."
Father Albrite tuts as he examines Quinry. "My my my, this is as bad a wound as I've seen from this rat infestation. Why were the rats attacking your arm?" Either way, our healers will see to you pro bono, as thanks for your service to the town" and he gestures to a group of clerics too the left.
"As for you", he frowns, looking at Harry "I'm still not sure what part he played in all of this. Reports say it was him who called the rats in the first place. Why should we assist him when there are other innocent people in need?"
The mailed dwarf nods at the priest, "We agree. Trouble dunna look over." He tips his head back toward the crowd. "Looks like your troop could use some triage. Mind if I go organize your queue a bit by need and ask folks some questions?"
Jormund, the priest thanks you for your offer, but politely refuses your offer of organization. He welcomes you to aid the healers working with the less severe injuries. I will add on some conversations soon, real life is interrupting.
"The pipes called the rats, not him," Rowan explains."They were given to him as a gift by somebody who wished the town harm, and he didn't know what they did until it was too late."
((No idea where Doloran is. Also, do we still have the pipes? If we do, Rowan would show them to the priest.))
(I figured Doloran was with the group that went to get healed as he’d probably need protection from the crowd if they realize he was involved in, or the cause of, the marketplace incident)

"Well,"Jared says a bit too sheepishly. "I was there and did help out a bit. I got a bite for my troubles though," he says with a smile. "You know me Boris, always a bit too curious about things. I thought I heard something about Thay today and thought I'd ask you since you know so much more than I do."
Looking down at his leggins and the blood. "You so right Boris, I best find a healer and get sorted out." Insight Check: 8
Jared will place his dishtowel done, collect his things and head out to find a healer. Jared will spend the time to find which healer the rest of the party went to and will go there. Walking in Jared will say: "Forgive me Father but, I got bit by those rats and think I need to be checked out."

"As for you", he frowns, looking at Harry "I'm still not sure what part he played in all of this. Reports say it was him who called the rats in the first place. Why should we assist him when there are other innocent people in need?"
"It shouldn't matter. Many more problems could've befallen this town if not for us, so even if we brought you a criminal, I find it disrespectful to ignore our deeds while judging a man you don't know." Ann adds to Rowan's counterpoint, staying serious, although her voice shows some annoyance in tone as well.
Point of order: where is Doloran right now? Last mention was that he was strapped to the back of a horse.
(( I agree, he was strapped to the back of a horse... given that Rowan, Ann, & Quinry are all at the house of Pelor, he must be out-front wherever the horses are tied, which also is unclear... And given that we all seem to have jumped into talking with the priest... errr... 😬... let's just hope we have a PbP rewind point to spend... Jormund would have intuitively tried to keep him secure for questioning... but felt moderately compelled to help out with the injured... and though he can drive a horse-drawn wagon, wouldn't feel much affinity for the horses... are the horses in sight of the entrance-way to the house of Pelor? where would they naturally be tied?))
Bryn accompanies the group to the healers keeping a watchful eye out for anything that just doesn’t seem right for example, a figure in the shadows or a scowling face when everyone else is happy and celebrating. While he is keeping an eye out he is doing his best to not look like he’s keeping an eye out.
Perception: 8
Bryn, as you walk across the square to the temple with the others, the sense of relief is palpable, with a buzz in the air that often follows large events. Nothing seems amiss.
OOC: Bryn can be the one watching Doloran, he wasn’t wounded so had no need to see the priests himself but went with the group to keep an eye out while they were being tended to.
"Either way, I don't want you to be showing up for work bloody, leaking in the soup and whatnot. Get yourself patched up and I'll mind the shop in the meantime, yah fool boy."

You head to catch up with the others and head into the temple. Father Albrite looks you over and says: "Well, your the worst I've seen yet, poor fellow. Come join your friends where we can have a look at you."

Father Albrite: "That is quite a awful stroke of luck; can you prove it? If they haven't talked to you yet, I'm sure the town watch will be very interested in talking to you about this morning."
Father Albrite will take the pipes and examine them as well. "Hard to believe something so innocent could cause such mayhem. I'm no wizard, but If you'd like, I know of a friend in town who could help you learn more about them.
Friends, I have no reason to doubt your sincerity, or the innocence of this poor afflicted man. However, our resources are already stretched thin by this event, and if he is cursed as I suspect, then I will need to pray to receive the dawn father's grace for him. I am the only priest of my order here that can aid him, and I will not be able to do so until tomorrow. If you can prove his innocence, I will help you then.
For now, rest, and receive Pelor's blessings."
All of you who went to the temple have had your full hit points restored, as the priests tended your wounds.
Jormund, during your conversations with the injured you are tending too, you hear several accounts of large swarms of rats appearing all over town simultaneously to the incident in the market. None were as agressive as those in the market, but they all appeared in large groups, then dispersed rapidly, as if they had been released.
Once everything seems safe (if it does), Ann strikes up a conversation. "You seemed to be quite skilled with the bow. Though you only saw me use a blade, I do have practice with a bow and arrow." It was very easy to see that Ann also had a bow strapped to her back. After a brief pause, she changes the topic. "Don't you find it strange? So many skilled people from different places were found in the same location, at the right time to stop a tragedy. Why were you here? Perhaps this wasn't chance."
Rowan locates the note that was tied to the pipes and the note she found in Doloran's pocket, handing them to the priest. "I don't have much proof other than these and my word. I would be interested to speak with this wizard, though, if you could give me their name."
As an afterthought, she adds, "We found some of the men who were responsible for the incident and brought one of them back with us. He's unconscious now, but you're welcome to question him later if you think it'll help."
