Tiamat says, "It is... a complicated problem. On one hand, time is not on our side. All is doomed if the Emperor manifests in this world. However at the same time, it will be all for nothing if we reach the source but we aren't strong enough to face whoever guards it. Being too slow or being too weak... both lead to destruction. It is hard to say how much time we should spend getting stronger and or how much power we should give up for being quicker..."
She goes over to help the search. After searching the table for 15 minutes, the party finds a handful of beads of nourishment, a few beads of refreshment. Tiamat looks at them and says, "Wait... don't eat these. They have gone very bad." Other than those, the party finds the following:
Ear Horn of Hearing
2 Feather Fall Token
Orb of Direction
Clockwork Amulet
A strange pendant baring an unknown symbol (Strixhaven Pendant)
Skarro's attention is grabbed by each item as it's found, and he asks Glory if they can be exchanged for coins. When she warns them about the beads his eyes light up and he smiles, "Are they poison?" he asks.
"Yes... I can eat them and convert their power into coins. I can give you 1 coin for each of the feather fall tokens. For the other items, I can give you 3 coins for each of them." Tiamat picks up one of the beads to examine them more closely. "Not quite poison. Normally these magical beads do not spoil or rot. However the Eternal City defies what should be. It should be impossible for these beads to go rotten... yet they have gone rotten. I suspect eating them will make you very sick. As a goddess, I am normally immune to such illnesses and diseases but... even I am not confident in my immunity to ingest these beads."
Skarro hisses in satisfaction, looking at the beads. "We should keep the beads," he says with finality. He gingerly scoops them into one of his sacks, trying to avoid touching them. "If they would hurt the Glory, then they might hurt big boss. Or his slaves."
He then spends a long time counting on his fingers and looking at the items. "More than eight, very hard," he grumbles, shaking his head to clear it. Eventually he puts them into two piles and smiles in satisfaction, "Eight and some more..." Again he resumes counting. "Skarro thinks 14 coins. Four for Skarro, five for each of you."
He stares at the items, "Unless someone wants one. Then someone else can work out numbers."
Skarro nods when Komos takes the Orb. He's not sure why he took it, but Komos is clever and probably has a plan. He stares at the other two for a few moments before shrugging and turning to Glory. "Noone wants coins? Okay!"
He hands the Ear Horn of Hearing (3), 2 Feather Fall Tokens (2), the Clockwork Amulet(3) and the strange pendant(3) to Glory, and pockets the resulting 11 coins, at least temporarily.
When he is done, he turns back to Komos. "Let's go back. Did strange door make sense to Komos?"
He waits until the others are ready then leaves the room a quickly as possible, heading back to the strange door.
As they walk, Komos starts tracking directions with his orb, just to see if everything makes sense. "That door certainly was interesting! Let's see what we can figure out with it!" Komos says as they head back, ready to check it out. ((investigation 11))
((Also about the coins, I didn't add it to Skarro's sheet yet because he did say he was holding on to them temporarily.))
His little beady eyes move from side to side as he places them in the coin bag around his neck.
(( Read: He'll keep them unless someone does the sums to say who gets what. His fingers are tired, but surprisingly light...and he has more that he wants ))

"I haven't had much luck with these things so far... but this looks like a fun challenge." Komos says, pulling out his lockpicks to work on the safe ((18))

Somewhat suspicious, Varn picks out a coin to check whether it is another of the strange, warm coins they've been feeding Tiamat, or perhaps a regular or otherwise non-goddess-empowering one. If these are goddess-empowering ones, he'll take a moment to count how many there are in the drawer.
If some roll is needed: 3. +0 if any Int-related check (probably not history).
When Varn touches one of the coins, he feels it to be warm. These are the goddess empowering coins... the same coins that you've been finding all over the place both in and out of the hotel. The moment Varn touches one of the coins though, he hears loud footsteps rapidly approaching. Something's heading for the party's location and fast!
Komos goes over to Search the table.

(( @DM: How many beads? ))
About 6 Beads of Nourishment (Bad) and 3 Beads of Refreshment (Bad)
Bump. Waiting on Party to decide what to do with the bunch of Common Items they found.
"I don't want any of these." Varn states. "You can have them, but we shouldn't delay here much longer."

Komos pockets the orb and then says, “yes yes! Let’s get a move on! Where to?”

Bump.
The safe needs a key to open. And the elevator is also here.
What are you doing?
Skarro looks expectantly at Komos, wondering if he plans to open the safe.

Komos manages to unlock the safe. Inside he finds clothes, old letters with their writing faded and illegible and a drawer filled with coins.
Skarro's eyes bulge, wondering how many there are and if it might be soon time to just give them to the goddess.

(( @DM: Did we get a rough idea of how many coins (and sets of feet)? ))
Skarro stands ready to defend the door.
