(Prior to combat, to Briella, because it bears posting)
Grishkar looks sidelong to the cleric from his preparations with the dead, "You are naive, child. Do you know who my Master is, or have His titles fallen on deaf ears? He is the Master of Death, Reaper of Souls, Despiser of Life. Beings like Strahd, regardless of their planar influence, pale in comparison to Nerrul, for He is nothing short of the embodiment of Death and Undeath." Setting his preparations aside, Grishkar removes his hood to bare his scarred face, "The fact that I, his servant, am mortal, living flesh is an insult by itself. The only way to find favor in my Master and be free of this abysmal form is to spread death and undeath wherever possible. I don't fear death, I embrace it. However, futility is unacceptable, so if I am to die, it will be through fire and fury, with a miasma of disease to herald my coming and an army of the dead at my heels."

Imryll to Bors, Martha, Ireena, and Ezmerelda: "Hey guys, have any of you seen Briella, Grishkar, or Kia in a while? I've all of a sudden got a sinking feeling in my gut. This land has been teeming with vile undead creatures for months now, but I just had a strange feeling that six more of those repulsive creatures are close by, to the southeast of us here in town. I'm worried that we haven't seen or heard from Briella, Grishkar, or Kia in a while. Coincidence? I think not."

Absolutely, then it's your turn.
(What check would be pertinent for Vampires? History seems like a stretch, Medicine almost just as far, Arcana possibly as they are undead, but not magical per se, then Religion which I could see revealing the glaring weakness that EVERYONE seems to know about)

Sunlight Hypersensitivity. The vampire takes 20 radiant damage when it starts its turn in sunlight. While in sunlight, it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.
Forbiddance. The vampire can't enter a residence without an invitation from one of the occupants.
Damage Resistances: Necrotic; Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing from Nonmagical Attacks
Grishkar swings an arm across his body and gives a slight bow, "Please give my regards to your master." Snapping back up and throwing forth his hand, Grishkar unleashes a torrent of black and grey light that fills the sight of the enemy vampires.
(Color Spray aimed to hit as many vampires as possible. Firing with my lvl 4 spell slot, so 65 hp affected, starting with the lowest. If I hit allies, I apologize, I/we will guide you out by the arm)
Following the assault, Grishkar makes a break for and out the door (with a blind ally/allies in tow if needed).

OOC: as for the rest of us, Imryll said he had stayed at the Inn while the others of us move on to the burgomasters home. Martha, Bors would certainly rush to the aid of our allies, but needs a reason to know something is amiss.

Jhezryn, seeing Reyvin fail terribly inaccurately because of her bloodlust, steps in with her fellow vampire spawn and counterattacks Kia:
Attack: 7 Damage: 8
Attack: 11 Damage: 7
Wow, Kia is such a wiley devil. Or i'm a shitty roller. Take advantage of it folks!
Ok, Grishkar, it's all you. What will you do.

Last to know and first to be blamed...
As a free action, can I regret my life choices?
Martha looks to Bors, “What do you think? Stay and meet mister mayor, or go check in with the rest of them?”

Novus takes a swing at you, Grishkar, as you turn and do the right thing, grabbing Kia by the paw and run for it.
Attack: 15 Damage: 8
Attack: 7 Damage: 10
I'm sure both of those miss.
Unless Briella wants to stick with her plan, i'll account for it, unless you want to run, too.

OOC: I'll cast Turn undead then run, Crispy.
Go for it. Make the Turn Undead roll (if it needs one, i'm assuming it does?) and bolt.
After that i'll update the adventure.
Sounds good. Here we go:
13, 8, 5, 4, 10, 2
HOOOO!!! Briella saves the team!!!!! The Spawn of Strahd all flee in terror!!!!!
Now would be a good time to flee and end the encounter.....for now. =P
