Lilitu shrugs, "how utterly pathetic not to mention inconsiderate to expire with empty pockets," she mutter... Loo Loo agrees! Lilitu, her wrinkling up grabs the envelope crumpled in the dead man's hand and blows her nose into it and absent-mindedly stuffs it into her pocket. She turns to the others, "I already know exactly what happened to him,"she giggles.
At some point while the party is examining the body, if there are no answers forthcoming, Kia may interject to Grishkar, "Prove your use, wizard, can you pierce the veil and ask this man what was done to him?"
Grishkar scoffs and spits on the corpse, "Better to ask our otherworldly priest there or even the strange girl who just blew her nise on the evidence. I can make other uses of the body, but if you need magic to find out what happened to this man, you may be of use as much as this man is to use in this state."
Grishkar gives a nod to his minions. Two step forward and drag the body onto the road, then Grishkar kneeled next to the corpse. The arcane patterns woven looked like a twisted mockery of a doctor's work. After a few seconds, Grishkar slammed his fists on the dead chest and the figure began to rise to its feet. "Another minion made in Nerrul's glory." Grishkar fishes through his pack and pulls out a long, thin cloak, "Not much protection, but that's not really the point, is it?"

OOC > Was hoping for Speak with Dead, but whatever, add to the cannon fodder. :)
Kia grimaces and turns away as Grishkar defiles the body, clenching and unclenching her fists. She stalks on down the road twenty feet.
OOC > I assume someone is going to retrieve the letter from Lilitu and read it? It's not a thing Kia would do, but It is a thing I think we should do.
(OOC > No speaky with the deady for wizardies :) )

"Lilitu, can I see that letter please? You say you know what happened to him..."
Sheepishly Lilitu looks up at Bors and digs into her pocket for the mucus-covered letter covered with bits of... unidentifiable fluff, tiny hairballs, and sparkling pixie dust and hands it to him, "there you go... and yes I know exactly what happened to him... elementary my dear Bors."She then turns and moves away from the body and sits down on the ground playing with Loo Loo waiting for the others to continue on the journey.
The letter Bors holds is from the Burgomaster again. It explains that his adopted daughter, Ireena, has been for the past nights, bitten by a creature calling its race “vampry.” For over 400 years this creature has drained the land of the life-blood of its people. Ireena now languishes and slowly dies from an unholy wound caused by this foul beast. This creature has other more cunning plans in mind, the Burgomaster believes, and has become too powerful to be fought any longer. He desperately requests your aid in Barovia. His wealth shall be yours.
Lilitu looks up at Bors her valuable playtime being interrupted, "Loo Loo had a long conversation with the dead guy, she says it's not polite to give out spoilers before the movie has been released for worldwide distribution. What's distribution? What's a movie? He is rather unhappy, I can tell you that, does want to warn you about the..." She is cut off suddenly her body convulses, "owwwww bloody hell that hurt Loo Loo, why did you go and do that for? What do you mean... no, I didn't know that, but why... alright... I don't think they will like that... No, but its impolite keeping secrets or withholding information... but what has the big bad have to do with it and what is a big bad? Well if you say so..."
Where she is down the road, Kia begins paying attention to the wolf howls, to track their distance (and discover if they are coming closer). If they are coming closer, she will rejoin the party and inform the others of this. If it needs a roll, feel free to roll (or ask me to).

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Well, as we go, Kia will actively be looking for wolf threats. No desire to be surprised. Best to arrive in Barovia before dark though. Even if we have to outdistance Grishkar's minions. :P
"Wolves are primal creatures, so why do you think they would leave a kill, a healthy one at that, uneaten next to a road? If my suspicion is correct, you should thank me for giving us something in a fight. Even the howling may be intended to give the idea that they are further away."

Kia, you can see animal eyes monitoring you from deep in the forest. Quite unsettling. Another wolf cries in the distance.
You can see Barovia from where you are. The foggy mist blocks your view from the back, so you can't see the road back which you've been travelling on. Strange. That wasn't there before.

You hear a lone wolf howl in the distance. There are no other sounds of animals.

Bors wipes the mucus off on the dead man's clothes then reads it. "So what happened to him then Lilitu?"

The letters, yes, they are. And the wolves “sound” closer. And large.
Early evening is approaching. Onward to Barovia on the road heading west.
Bors nervously glances towards the sun. How long until sunset?
