To Prove D&D Exists for Echolon

Elyona runs forward, towards Toots, her ROLM set as a battleaxe.

OOC: If I'm reading things right, Elyona is 30' or more "behind" Toots, so she can't get to her this turn without dashing.  Instead, after running forward 25', she will hold her action, and attack when/if one of the marquopolo's gets within her range.  Attack rolls in the spoiler block below.  I am assuming that there is now sufficient light from the bolt?  If not, treat the two attacks below as one with disadvantage; In that case, Wysp is welcome to roll for Elyona's second attack, as it will likely be Wednesday afternoon (Central US time) before I can check in again, and maybe not even then.  

OOC: Not that this is a factor in 5e but technically they're backlit, so we'd have an advantage on seeing them over them. seeing us, but the Marquopolos seems to work on echolocation, and maybe smell further mooting whatever backlight advantage we'd have if backlighting was a thing in 5e.

Tommary runs forward and punches a hole into the creature gripping Toots. The wound spatters black blood to mix with the floor slime and the creature shrieks in pain! He can hear and smell his metal items becoming hot - take 4 Fire damage.

Elyona follow up cautiously ready to whack an enemy if it closes.

Marquopolo 3 and 4 scramble on the ceiling effortlessly and attack Toots and Tommary.

Claw Attack: 27 Damage: 11

Toots go!

Toots shouts “AAAHH!!!” at the three she had previously targeted and attempts to deafen them. (They have to make DC 15 Con saves with the -1d4 from bane, any that fail are deafened for 1 minute. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, the spell ends.)

If that deafening is enough to get the thing to let go, she will ziggy her little tuchus 25 feet towards the not hot. If it doesn’t she doesn’t have much choice but to stand there. 🤷‍♂️

EDIT: So Tommary's not poisoned, just slashed, punctured, and bleeding.

 OOC: You basically have a bunch of metal about your body - dagger, sword, pitons, bearings, buckles, manacles, arrows, studded leather armor, thieve's tools, and a bomb. Toots isn't wearing armor nor carrying as much metal.

Marquopolo 1 closes on Tommary and attacks

Ilyara and Tommary and Elyona

Tommary has OA on Marquopolo 2

"Oiy!  Hands off the goods, scrotum face!" Ilyara snapped, moving forward herself to get back within range of the creature dragging Toots off.  Her Traveler's blade followed suit, and she reprised her strikes from a moment before - blade followed by bells, seeking to pry Toots free from as far away as Ilyara could be.

{Spirit Blade: Attack: 17 Damage: 8 fizzorce damage.}
{Bells: 6 on DC14 WIS failure.}

OA: Fighting through claws, call it steeled tenacity or hardheaded relentlessness, Tommary endeavors to not let the Marquo pole off with Toots, getting a slash at its retreat.  OA with sabre on MP 2 (in case Ilyra's onslaught doesn't finally drop it) Attack: 12 Damage: 7

OOC: When he got his bell rung, I had almost taken Tommary's Scout skirmisher reaction to GTFO, but opted to keep line of sight

Will post actual turn after this and Ilyra's attacks are resolved.  

Tommary gives the marquopolo a deep stab as it runs off with Toots!

It is followed by the glittering blade of the Traveller slashing it again, blood spatters on the walls making it stumble. Already off balance, a divine chime knocks it to the ground. Toots is free!
