“Oh no! Ely!!” Toots shouts, hearing the clash of weapons on armor. She casts light on another crossbow bolt and fires it at the monster, hoping to illuminate the darkness of the battlefield: (Attack: 16 Damage: 5).
Elyona will use her flame tongue sword to make two attacks against the creature. If one hits, she will use a 1st level divine smite.
Attack: 16 Damage: 13
Attack: 20 Damage: 15
Divine smite damage, if applicable: 11 additional if creature is undead or fiend: 5 [Wysp: please mark a 1st level spell slot off for E if she does hit, see OOC Notes below]
OOC NOTES:
-neither attack from the creature hit—this round
-If another member of the party is within 5 feet of her and targeted, she will use her protection fighting style to impose disadvantage on the attack
-Reminder to party members: if you are within 10 feet of E, you add +4 to saving throws (aura of protection), you have resistance to damage from spells, and—as long as E is conscious—you cannot be frightened.
-It is very unlikely that I’ll be able to check in again today, unless I do so late tonight when we reach our next hotel. I’m fine with Wysp (or a player Wysp designates) deciding E’s actions. My current plan was that if things were looking dire, she would increase the level spell slot she used for divine smite, but she doesn’t want to use all her slots for this one fight unless necessary. If she is struggling to hit, needs to retreat to avoid going down, or if the battle is dragging out but not wearing our side down to much, she’d move the moonbeam on the creature if she can without harming party members. (If the creature isn’t doing too much damage to us, she would do this to save spells slots). She will also be paying attention to the creatures regenerative powers. Her current theory is that radiant damage prevents the regeneration they seemed to see earlier. If that seems to continue to bear out, she’ll use a combo of moonbeam and divine strikes to do her best to keep the regeneration “off line.”
-Moonbeam is concentration, so if she takes damage E will need to make concentration saves: this also limits her other spell casting.
Elyona slashes it across the thighs, then backswings it in the guts! the intense fire from her blade burns the bits and blood to ash in a cloud around her.
Tommary slides in on a smear of rotting flesh driving his blade deep into the chest cavity up the forearm, YUCK!
You notice that parts falling off are no longer regrowing. The maggots seem disappointed. He roars in pain and frustration covering Tommary and Elyona in spit!

Ilyara darts forward after a moment's fugue, images of an older, less successful* fight flashing through her mind. Drawing Rilia, she slots in next to Elyona (using her Cunning Dash to make up the movement deficit) and lashes out, striking with the blade aglimmer with shifting viridian flames.
OOC: God FINKING damnit, fox. -_- For future, not-this-combat combats - what do y'all think of implementing the latest 1DD UA's version of the light property? Not that Ilyara can use it with GFB, but hey - might be worth trying in fights like this where a single solid hit is better than banking on a bit of extra fire damage.
LIGHT [WEAPON PROPERTY] When you take the Attack Action on your turn and attack with a Light weapon in one hand, you can make one extra attack as part of the same Action. That extra attack must be made with a different Light weapon in the other hand, and you don’t add your Ability Modifier to the extra attack’s damage. You can make this extra attack only once on each of your turns. For example, if you take the Attack Action on your turn and have a Shortsword in one hand and a Dagger in the other—each of which has the Light property—you can make one attack with each weapon, but you don’t add your Strength or Dexterity Modifier to the damage roll of the second weapon.
OOC: New Light property allows you to do the offhand attack as part of the Attack action, without eating up your bonus action. Otherwise acts the same way.
OOC: managed a brief and unexpected break from the worlday long enough to peek in and say...
GDI, fox.
Ilyara also moved out alongside Tallboots and Elyona.

With his blade flourish, Tommary the Unworthy has enough movement to windbreak the gas bag alongside Elyona.
If one attack lands, he does an additional 4 sneak attack damage.
Attack: 27 Damage: 11
Attack: 19 Damage: 7
And he'll still have 5' of movement left to disengage from the stank, probably just standing behind and to the side of Elyona.

Chop that ****er in the shin!
Smite it left and smite it right,
And smite it right out of this fight!
