“Tommary, you okay up there?” Since Toots is pretty confident that this fight will go our way (since one Wight is down and the other is still wool gathering), so she will move out towards the middle of the dried mud field and use her Action to look for another passage down on the ground floor. (Both she and I are convinced there has to be one, or at least something to make it easier to get up and down rather than climbing the walls.)
Perception: 23
You notice that the gnolls might have possibly dug the tunnel up instead of at a slant to be a the same height as the discs or doorways but for some reason they thought it was a better idea to dig to the level of the mud.
Curiouser and curiouser.... Could she use her Bonus Action and/or her once per turn free item interaction to collect a sample of this mud?
Sure, you slice off a cake of the dried mud which has some wet mud and glowing fungus on it.
Is the fungus like a mushroom or more like a mold? How, other than being wet (and potentially that fungus), is the wet clay different than the dry clay if at all?
It’s getting kinda cramped up there and Tommary, Elyona, and Taslyn should be able to mop up without Toots. She may as well try to be useful on the lower level while she’s here. Can she make an Insight check or something to see if she can surmise why the Gnolls dug their tunnel to the mud pit instead of to the higher level?
The fungus is similar to slime mold, but yellow and glowy.
Toots figures that if the gnolls continued with their cooling operation it would have been easier to walk along the bottom and climb up rather than use the discs risking falling and the mud geysers. Tunneling to both passages would also have taken more time.
The wet clay is essentially the same material as the dry.

Tommary is doing his best to make the Wight seem ridiculous in its half remembered or haunted fighting form and takes another swipe with his scimitar. Attack: 21 Damage: 9

While waiting for Oethe and Toots, I'll check the Wight's body, the skeleton strewn hallway and assess the door for things of note. Let me know how many checks I need to make, but I'll start with a Perception 14.

OOC: I'm likely going to be off site for the rest of my day not checking back in for probably eight hours or so, so I'll just followup with some standard operating procedure stuff.
Tommary will examine the door, determining if it's locked, whether I can use the keyhole or cracks to see beyond on it, if I can hear anything beyond it, etc. If the door is locked I won't endeavor to unlock it yet. If the door swings toward us, I will endeavor to construct some sort of doorjam with skull fragments to slow down anything on the other side who may be in a hurry to get to us. If it swings the other way, I'll see if there's someway I can post myself beside the doorframe to give me surprise advantage if anyone comes barreling in, don't know if we're wide enough.

OOC: I'm going to handwave the climbing process (you all would eventually make it up anyway) and set the party in the hall with skulls and door.
The door would open towards the party (hinges on party side) with an iron pull ring. It looks like the humidity has swelled the wood a little and caused some rust on the bands holding the panels together.
*this is just too fast for me, and I didn't put enough effort into Taslyn's character. I'm going to half to drop out. sorry ya'll! this is not because of any problems of yours, you've all been great players/DM, it's just my problem. plus, being a PC is seriously hard. I'm better at DMing. anyways, bye! have a good campaign!*

There are exactly 45 skulls on the floor. Most of them are humanoid or that of beasts.
The wight has a rusty sword and is dressed in tatters of old leather armor. It has no items of interest.

Elyona keeps an eye on Toots, Hawksley, and Oethe as they make the climb to the tunnel, and giving them a hand up when they reach her level.
