Balasar looked down the mine shaft, then starts to tie his rope together with the rope that Hrothbert handed him. A second means of traversing the mine shaft would most likely be best.
(OOC: Balasar wants to tei the two pieces of rope together, then tie it off at the top of the mine shaft and drop it down)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thulmar carefully exits the bucket and watches it scoot back up. Stowing one of his axes, he lights a torch from his pack and looks around at his new surroundings. He cautiously examines the two tunnel entrances for signs of danger.
(Investigation roll: 14 )
“Hello little kobolds” he whispers quietly as he searches “are you hiding here to ambush us?”.
A lot of kobold foot traffic leads to and comes from the west, and a single set of kobold footprints leads to the east. There are no kobolds about, though.
Jamming his torch into a crack in the wall to free up his hands, Thulmar crouches down low and hides against the wall near the western tunnel entrance.
Thulmar finds himself quietly humming the tune he heard Kaloruk sing earlier as he waits to ambush any unfortunate kobolds that come down the tunnel.
"I'll Go next." Hrothbert ties off the rope and prepares to enter the basket. Noticing the faint glow below he pulls his sword and prepares for the decent. "Someone wanna lower me down?" Bending his knees to allow for the jerky movements that hanging from a rope creates. "Ready when you are!"
Balasar ties off the length of rope his had in hand firmly to a support beam, pulling on it to make sure it won't give way. He turns to the rest of the party as he drops the other end of the rope down the mine shaft.
"I'll go last," he offered, "this thing could be operated from the bucket, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be." He gestured to the rope, "I'll use the rope to get down."
"Alright Thulmar I am coming. Lower away Kaloruk" Hrothbert waits until he gets near the bottom, hoping to get a glimpse of Thulmar to know how much farther the trip is going to be.
The trip is about 1 minute. The bucket lift descends to the floor of a small cave where two dusty tunnels lead in opposite directions. Thulmar crouches by the west one.

Ok.
(OOC: I guess the next question is whether or not the shaft would allow for someone to descend in the bucket and with the rope)
As soon as Hrothbert feels Thulmar exit the basket he pulls it back up again.

It takes 1 minute for the basket to descend and 20 seconds to pull it back up.

"Well then, who next? Assuming the silence down below means there's no danger..." Kaloruk said.
Long time roleplayer and artist, I enjoy the fantasy world of dragons and magic. It only makes sense I dive into Dungeons and Dragons!
Looking forward to learning the game and making new friends. :)

Kaloruk goes to pulley system and muster his best strength to lower Hrothbert down the tunnel.
"Oof!"

(OOC: How exactly does the pulley system work? Does someone need to run it from the top, or can it be operated from the bucket?)
It could be operated from the bucket, but you can tell it's not supposed to be.
Rhys offers to go down next.

Upon seeing Thulmar, Hrothbert moves to the opposite opening, sword ready in both hands, "What you see, big guy? You look tense."

“Nothing but tracks so far” Thulmar replies to Hrothbert, “but I figured it was best to be cautious until the others get down here”
"Sounds good to me, they should all be down shortly" Hrothbert relaxes a bit and surveys the room. "I wonder why the miners built it like this?"
