As my Way of long death tiefling monk as a warning to my party of when I use Hour of reaping is it possible to cast Thaumaturgy to create a small flame on the tip of my horns?
Just trying to understand the limitations of the cantrip in general.
In general, thaumaturgy only allows you to alter existing flames in the ways the spell describes, not create them (produce flame would be the spell that does that). Not sure if the subclass (I'm assuming you mean the Way of Long Death?) ability would change that.
I mean, technically, the spell effects existing flames, so RAW I don't think so. If you are looking for a RAW alternative, you can alter the appearance of your eyes for 1 minute, so if you want you could make your eyes look like flames which would also be pretty cool.
The intent of the spell is to create some harmless but dramatic effect. Example would be Gandalf appearing to grow big and intimidating toward Bilbo at the beginning of Fellowship of the Ring, to get him to give up the ring. Personally if I was DMing I would allow the flame horns, because that would be fun and cool. Assuming you are not trying to use the flames to deal damage but more as a cosmetic effect. I would say talk to your DM.
No, but you could make it look like you have flames in your eyes. It’s not quite as visible as the horns, but it isn’t bad. (And having it look like the insides of your eyes are on fire would be effing cool. Just sayin.)

@BK_Skillz
I am the DM, I just wanted a second opinion before I talked to my party about it to make sure it wasn't this crazy stupid idea.
I appreciate your help.
I think prestidigitation is the spell you need (though I understand you may not have access to it).
