plasmoids can hold their breath for an hour but why do plasmoids need to breathe if they dont have lungs there are other races that dont need to breath it just seems stupid to me and it opens up an argument for being able to drown/suffocate black puddings and other ooze like creators.

You can absolutely drown a black pudding. There’s no ambiguity there. A lot of creatures have traits that say they don’t need to breathe (skeletons, for example). Oozes very explicitly lack any such trait.
