Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination. I will protect those who cannot protect themselves, I will protect even those I hate so long as it is right.
Ever since reading your question this has been bugging me. I was hoping someone else would answer but didn't see one and gave in to the urge to research today. ;)
I think it's a bad tag in the system here. You may want to report it as a bug.
In tearing apart my PHB and DMG I can't find anything that references warding in this way. Looking online I found some optional content regarding armor rules that are not core rules, so they shouldn't be here unless homebrew is spilling out.
I know it's not a definitive answer, but didn't want to leave you with no response (I wanted one too).
Click in the TAGS box and you'll see a drop-down of available tags.
The "warding" tag applies to all items that have some form of defensive capability.
Following up to this then, You cannot use the "TAGS" filter on the equipment section, only on magic items (So you cannot filter for mundane/common items by tag)
Should I add this to bugs, or is just mentioning it here fine?
Is warding a note on armor because we cannot cast with it on? Although Clerics can wear armor and cast. What about Bards? Can they sing/cast with leather jerkins on?

It's nothing to do with not being able to cast with it on. Not being able to cast with armor on isn't really a thing in 5E to begin with: you're only prohibited from casting spells while wearing armor if you're not proficient with that armor, so it's not caused by the armor itself.

I think it's because "warding" is supposed to imply some kind of defensive BONUS, generally a magical one. While armor does technically provide a defensive bonus, it's also normal, expected. A character that can use armor but doesn't is the abnormal one. To me, the warding tag represents that someone is getting a defensive benefit beyond mundane means. A pride silk outfit is admittedly abnormal as in rare and fancy, but it's still just slightly protective clothing on par with leather armor.

You can enter tags into the search bar directly on the equipment page.
Names, Types, Attributes, Tags, or Notes all go in the same search bar on that page.
It'd be nice if the user interface for filter options on various pages were consistent but at least the functionality is there.

The Warding tag is correct.
Tags are a mechanism that allows you to narrow your searches when looking through items (primarily for magic items).

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?
Wave!
Here is fine - I'll tag it onto a list for visibility.

Then why is it not on all of the armor? Specifically the pride silk outfit. Is this a bug? I have just reported it as such.
Authors may have simply forgotten.
