sometimes the spirit enter a humanoid to help them achieve their goals. this humanoid then gains the power of the spirit, combined with their own. a humanoid combined with a spirit is called a spirit avatar. the human still controls their own body, so spirits must be careful when entering a human. spirits can leave the humanoid at an time. and when this happens the humanoid feels a wave of lethargy.
spirits can also permanently bind with a humanoid. when this happens, the humanoid permanently has the power of themselves combined with that of the spirit. the humanoid still, as with temporary spirit avatars, has control of their spirit empowered body. when the humanoid dies, the spirit is released, into being a spirit again.
In the valley of Quock faint ticking can be heard and no spirits reside here long.Legend has it that anyone that finds themselfs in the caves in the area will not find their way back out as the tunnels twist, turn and constrict.
The underground city of Gel Nadril is home to the Deep Gnomes, who took shelter beneath the earth before the Great End and have been living there ever since. Their leader is Gili Stonemouth, or was. He has been secretly killed and replaced by a doppelganger, a spirit of mimicry who desires to know what humanoid lives are like. No one had noticed yet, except for Gili Stonemouth's adolescent son, Bordie Stonemouth. The doppelganger and Bordie have been trying to kill each other subtly ever since, but neither have succeeded.
The scouts of Uchir'na are a group of gargoyles, known to scout out areas for devastation. They are the ultimate bad omens, and even misinterpreted sightings have lead to villages being abandoned. Gargoyles both living and statuesque line the parapets of Uchir'na's central fortress.
Their leader is the dread Zzanthus (use the Fraz'Urb'Ullu stat block and image from MToF), said to be the first dragonborn. They were injected with too many powerful and ill-tempered spirits, becoming something more powerful and hateful than their lesser Dragonborn kin. Using their great power, Zzanthus created the gargoyles in his grim image. They are one of the chief generals of Uchir'na.

I agree with your statement, but this particular experiment has existed since page 2. It has been established that one of the 5 replaced the blood of tiny turtles with "concentrated change spirits", which became the first dragonborns. I did not invent spirit injection, I merely named one of the "failures" of that process.
There is an underwater metropolis that lets no one in that mostly survived the apop. It follows an obscure Water Genasi demigod that during the battle of Siasfu (derived from Sìos fo, gaelic for underwater) used wish. 'I wish to protect the town of Siasfu from the dangers of whatever this battle will lead to.'

The great city of Kalaa was an interesting locale, a grand merchant hub with thriving industry and the home of many heroes.
When the apocalypse started, the spirits targeted a library in the city that was owned and operated by one of the five. The spirits burned the library and tore apart the fire-proofed sections. Due to enchanted hovering books in the library, which fled when lit on fire, secondary fires started throughout the city. Amid the mass panic that came with the city-wide fire, the citizens fled and opportunistic looters sacked the palace. This is agreed to be the first major devastation of the apocalypse, though it would not be the last.
In the present day, the city's burnt ruins host the largest cathedral of the Prophets of the End (who see it as holy land due to the whole first-major-spirit-devastation thing) who have thwarted all attempts to rebuild the city.
There is a lost island named The isle of Yilinu that was lost in the apocalypse when the spirits mobbed the island and sunk it under their sheer will.

This is the age where spirits came from, an age of world peace and perfection
OP- Opportunity Period-1353 years
This is the time after the spirit age where tech advanced and there were jobs and homes for everyone
BA- Before apocalypse-159 years
This is the time period where tech advanced too greatly and went out of control and accidentally freed the spirits. The War of Losses (BA 4-159) also happened during this.
AA- After apocalypse-29 years, current
The current age, began when the war of lost ended. The spirits, in the bodies of Warforged decimated The Last Hope in the Battle of Death.
The Last Hope, also known as The Last Alliance was an alliance between the last northwestern cities such as Luxemland, Faerlands, Nexus, and Gerruin. Some people from Southbane, one of the first cities to be overrun also joined them and held Grayon's Keep during The Battle of Death.

for starters several locations not metioned before just suddenly existed
second this is world has an intentionally fogged past with events before the apoclyspe simply being ¨i dunno happened before the end of the world¨ because who would remember anything from before the end of the world.
I'm willing to change the names. This is more DM info than player info

Yeah a lot of new unprecedented events, and no mention of almost all established important events (see the 5 wizards, origin of spiraca/dragons, etc.)
Also, no conflicts with the spirits have hinted at them being in wrforged bodies. The spirits mostly just destroyed stuff because they were angered about their enslavement by the 5. That and the resulting panic lead to mass destruction.
