If an evil god and an efreet were gambling what would the stakes be? A legendary artifact? A kingdom? A prized prisoner? What would the loser have to give up? The same as above or something else?
I imagine that the efreeti would post up their most valuable slave/prisoner in eternal service. The evil deity would probably wager their champion. I could see the deity also trying to trick the efreeti into servitude as well, knowing how they despise servitude.
The basis of their wager would have a lot to do with their motivations. Does the evil god need something or are they crazy? Efreet are well known tricksters and are very self serving. They tend to use grand titles to demonstrate their status and lineage. I could easily fathom so many directions with this. *For shear cruelty and amusement the bet could be for 1 gp, and the trial they are betting on would be grewsome and terrible to the person performing the tasks. The motivation would be the entertainment factor of watching the suffering of lessor beings. *However, it could be over a special soul Larvae that came to the possession of the Djinn, that the God wants to trade to a demon he wants a favor from. *The bet could be part of a larger prediction that will change some world event. *Or my favorite, would be a match between champions they have to create and winner gets bragging rights that their creations were more powerful and imaginative. Evil gods and Djinn have very very deep egos.
Last bag of Flaming Hot Cheetos in the Multiverse. It's the last bag because of The Event. Whatever the wager, the two are going to throw down in a literal sea of boiling Mountain Dew.
I'm not usually a miniatures guy, and thereby definitely not a terrain dude; but I'm going to start crafting that landscape now.

Might be crazy, but I'm thinking of the movie Trading Places where the two brothers were willing to destroy someone's life for a $1 wager. Why not something like that, something insignificant other than just the challenge of manipulating someone's circumstances being the ultimate game for them. This could be real disheartening if the PCs are the pawns in the game because it shows the value these beings placed in them.

I am not sure what my Spirit Animal is. But whatever that thing is, I am pretty sure it has rabies!
Thank you! That is very insightful and helpful.

Power. The looser might cede a portion of their power to the victor for a temporary period, say, 1,000 years.
