There are currently 8,100,054,704humans living on this planet (give or take a few hundred thousand), plus another 10 in space.
Dragons could win, but it’d take a loooong time.
Consider how quickly humans procreate. We would likely breed whole generations in the time it would take them to work through the first billion of us. And as I stated before, the one thing humanity excels at more an anything else is ending life.
Well, I think a coupla A-10 Warthogs are more than a dragon can handle. The Warthog's flying speed and range make it almost impossible for the dragon to even engage.
Spells generally don't have the range necessary to be relevant.

Not to mention the Warthog’s main armament, a 30 mm rotary autocannon capable of throwing out shells a little bigger than beer bottles at the rate of almost 4,000 rpm. Although, the warthog is primarily designed to effectively take out tanks and other armored ground units. If the dragons are on the wing, better to deploy F-22s or F-35s against them.
The dragons are currently winning. They are playing the long game. "Random" California weather changes, "Mysterious" drought, "Unexplained" earthquakes...
They are testing our defenses and the people in place to prevent or handle the situations are dragons in disguise. Ever ask yourself how our leaders could be so dumb?
How exactly are dragons causing weather changes, droughts, or earthquakes?
Well, I suppose they could "cause" the first two by investing heavily in fossil fuel production, but their ability to directly control the weather is... calling it "limited" feels like it's actually overstating what they can do.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

we don't know how quickly dragons mate- but reptiles mate a lot during mating season- so this would be the worst time- also- in D&D their are A LOT of dragons- and also two dragon gods
What a wonderfully silly discussion. A billion kobolds with slings would defeat dragons, handily. There'd be ... losses. Sure. But the kobolds would win. It's not even a question. A single fighter jet could take out ... I dunno, half a dozen dragons? Depending on how many hardpoints it has.

Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.
Any intelligent dragon transplanted into the modern world would do the only sensible thing: Hide.
Any dragon unable to Shapeshift to look roughly like a human will get captured and exhibited like a zoo animal, captured and experimented on by government/corp scientists, or killed for a trophy.
There's a reason that vast majority of the huge Pleistocene-era mammals of North and South America are extinct: they got wiped out by a combination of human hunting/competition and non-anthropogenic climate change. The bison, polar bear/grizzly, jaguar, and the moose are the only significantly-larger than human terrestrial mammals left. The bigger the creature, the bigger the target. Also, the bigger the creature, the slower the reproductive rate. The only reason that bison are even alive is because a few humans wised up and realized that killing further bison would not accomplish any useful long-term goals once indigenous Plains Indians got herded onto concentration camps reservations.
In the modern world, the fantasy creatures best suited to killing humans would be were-rats, not dragons. Advantages of Were-rats: can blend in with rats and with human society; can use human-scale weaponry and human technology without costly adjustments; immune to most non-silver standard weapons; a reproduction rate that is at least as fast as regular people, if not faster.
If dragons are smart they make bombs. Or just shapechange into some guy that holds a lot of power and won’t be questioned if he sends a nuke somewhere.
What I think would happen is the chromatic dragons would be killed off quicker with help from the mettalic dragons who would then overthrow tyrants and rule the world justly I mean brass dragons would love our modern world

No, metallic dragons would never get elected in the modern world, because people vote for someone they can see themselves getting a beer with, not for someone highly intelligent and competent. Whereas chromatic dragons would become successful CEOs, and reclusive billionaires thus treated like royalty above the law. Of course both type of dragon would be confined to humanoid shape or they'd be hunted down & killed.

60-70 million people with spears and bronze weapons sound much easier to deal with than the modern world. Yes only time dragons can do this, but a single coordinated strike team of time dragons would be devastating to world history
An ancient red dragons only have a fly speed of 80 or 8mph so 16mph for a dash speed. At a rate of 10 feet per 1mph a WW2 Japanese Zero has a maximum movement speed of 3,510 feet per round and can shoot it from about 2,000 feet away or say 500 feet away without taking long range to hit penalties. I would take WW2 Japan's Kido Butai vs dragons and the only way the dragons win is to throw bodies against the IJN until they run out of ammunition. And if you're thinking of an underwater attack from the aquatic dragons the destroyers have active sonar, the ship's all steam at 320 feet per round, and both depth charges and sonar are brutal against large living creatures. Against the speed and range of modern military equipment dragons are as slow and helpless as the Tarrasque against a party of level 20 flying characters. If the dragons can't take a WW2 Japanese task force what chance would have have against a modern military.
The answer is obvious! Tarrasques!

Wait, I think we forgot that solar dragons live in the sun
Which rather precludes them from coming into contact with humans in the first place.

It's sad 'cause it's true.
Dragons win by time dragons time travelling back to kill everyone when gunpowder was still in it's infancy
