Best uses of Command

Your dm might allow it the first time you try it in the moment because they thought it funny. The second time will likely get shot down.

It's also worth keeping in mind that the spell takes an action to cast and only affects the target for one turn. So, even if the DM allowed this sort of thing, you'd have six seconds to express the detailed instructions and the target would have six seconds to follow them. That alone puts some significant limitations on the amount of abuse you can do with it.

There's also the option of 

Player: I command them to Obey

DM: they stand there doing nothing.

Player: why aren't they doing what I told them to do?

DM: they weren't listening.

BBEG, whose turn is next: Pfft. Go kill that wizard
Lieutenant, under sway of Command when his turn begins: You got it, boss!
