Part of the problem is the help action. Anyone can already spend an action to give someone else advantage, although the range is 5ft. Silly to have a cantrip to extend the range to 30 ft and let you do it for yourself.
True strike only works if you can see the enemy at casting time. This make it harder to stage an ambush and impossible to prep it before breach a room. Those are two cases for which people typically recommend true strike, but it still doesn't work.
I think a bonus-action instant-advantage would work if it was a leveled spell. It'd be great for multiclasses and half-casters, and generally useful for dedicated casters. Probably most useful for Warlocks, since they have the beefiest cantrip to pair it with.
