It is only necromancy if it doesn't add anything to the thread. Otherwise, it is revivification.
It does suck that Kalashtar got screwed in ER:FLW, but they are still pretty good druids and clerics.
A Kalashtar Horizon Walker would be cool.
How did they get screwed other then loosing persuasion skill (sucks, but not a huge deal) ? Am I forgetting something ?
They took an ability away from the Kalashtar, and didn't give them anything in return. The also changed the ability scores to make the race less versatile.

Thread necromancy is awful around this place. I've never seen so much of it as I have here on DDB. Hell, any given class forum front page is basically nothing but threads started in the eighteen hundreds. I have no idea why so many DDB users have such a rampant fetish for necrophilia, but ye gods it bothers the shit out of me. There's not even any point in commenting in a thread like this one; it isn't even relevant anymore. Kalashtar got changed around so their Mind Link is nearly useless and their floating attribute point was taken away from them; +2 WIS is rare but it's not as cool as +1WIS/CHA and +1 Whatever. Make them any WIS-centric caster and they're fine.
Ugh.
... who hurt you?
If you really want to see him get spun up, ask when the UA will be available in DDB.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
I'm currently playing a Kalashtar Star Druid (Druid Circle of the Stars from Unearthed Arcana) and it's honestly so broken. Guiding Bolt is my bread and butter (full WIS gives 5 uses per long rest, I haven't gone through all of them yet in combat and im level 3!). So far i am looooving it!
Good morning folks! new player here so just wondering if i got this right: i could make a Kalashtar Druid with a +2 to Wisdom, make them a Moon Circle Druid and essentially keep it's racial bonuses (since they are mental, not physical) when in Wild Shape? because being a Bear that's resistant to Psychic Damage ontop of it's natural resistances and able to telepathically communicate with my party sounds awesome! (hell the Quori are spirits from another plane right? i can totally see my Quori half being enraptured by curiosity upon seeing an entire plane's "exotic" (from it's POV) life-forms and nature, urging my Kalashtar towards a Druidic path in order to explore the world and understand it's many creatures in an almost child-like wonder!)
The kalashter are severed from dreams to protect them from the Dreaming Dark. They don't dream or really even sleep. They can't be affected by the Dream spell although the Sleep spell can affect them which I find a little weird.
Kalashter is a strange since they don't have an individual quori in them just a piece of the original quori who influences them via the quori's memories (which take the place of dreams) and instincts. I think it's little confusing. I would want to be able to interact with the piece of quori in me a little more than what is stated in the book. I think there was a prestige class in 3.5 called the atavist that was strictly for the kalashter that allowed a little more interaction. Which is not to say that your DM couldn't allow that for you. It's a neat backstory.
I played a kalashtar druid i had a lot of fun with. I went Circle of Dreams, flavored it as her chasing what her species couldn't do. She felt like she had been missing out, so did everything she could to get into dreams.

This is a lovely idea, it sounds like a really flavorful and mechanically decent build. How did you divvy up stats with the current racial modifiers and traits?

They are still a good race, but not as good as before

Just removed some skills that they had.

Tasha
How would a kashatar do with being a artificer?
They're not any better at it than a wood elf, or any other race that has no bonus that would benefit the Artificer.

The loss of the floating +1 ability score takes away a lot of possibilities for interesting class builds imo.
Tasha's lets all races have all of their ASIs be floating, so this isn't really a problem for campaigns that use it.

I have a feind warlock Kalashtar currently. Its a pretty good mash-up. Uh, would recomend either Pact of Chain or Pact of Blades.
Where should I go?
To the right, where nothing is left?
Or to the left, where nothing is right?
Before, they could levitate and stuff.

I think that Circle of Dreams Druid could be a good fit. Really go into the whole dream and other worldly element of them.

That's a really interesting concept.
Well done.

It was pre-Tasha, so all pretty straightforward. Standard racial ASI, point-buy. Largely what you'd expect.
