Why was no UA released for March or April? April is acceptable seeing as it's not the end of April yet, but March is over and has been for quite some time.

i like linguistics and, well, d&d, obviously. this bio hadn't been updated for 3 years so i figured i'd do that.
The Unearthed Arcana's release schedule has been changed to when it is ready for release as described in the last UA for the Artificer class just above to PDF download link.
As of February, Unearthed Arcana now comes out when it's ready to come out of the oven. That could mean multiple times in a month or some months being skipped—whatever makes sense for the goodies cooking in our design kitchen. We'll let you know when it's ready!
It's sad but understandable. By not being forced to release things on an arbitrary schedule they can work on UA to have it polished and ready to release when it's ready. I'm happy to wait a bit longer for more complete UA content!
They should still have a published schedule even if it's not monthly. There's no reason they can't put an estimate on release date. Besides if his statement were true, then the Artificer wouldn't have received such a luke warm reception... it would have been "polished." Unless of course you think an alchemist who makes robots is polished.

UA is pretty close to the bottom of their priority list, so whenever they get extra busy developing their actual products, UA is one of the first things to get pushed back.
Historically alchemists were concerned with transmutation... not making "alchemical homunculuses"... aka robots. The Homunculus should have been given to a Tinker subclass.
I like the subclasses just fine (want more though). I have a few gripes about the base class, namely that level 1 messes with multiclass spellcasting, and that there are 3 level where it doesn't gain a class feature or a new spell level.

How so?
Due to multiclass spellcasting rules a level 5 paladin or ranger can know/prepare level 2 spells, but if they multiclass 1 level artificer, they lose their level 2 slots.
and that there are 3 level where it doesn't gain a class feature or a new spell level.
You learn a new infusion at that those levels though, which are kinda the class's main thing more so than spells are.
But that doesn't really mean anything unless it us also gaining an additional infused item (which admittedly it does for one of those 3 levels). It is like learning a new spell without getting an extra slot, and every other class gains a feature when that happens. It is just underwhelming and a palpable lull in progression.

No, they don't. I do see that on DDB it is happening, but that 100% has to be a bug (it IS still test material). Multi-classing never causes you to actually lose features from your other classes.

You don't know what fear is until you've witnessed a drunk bird divebombing you while carrying a screaming Kobold throwing fire anywhere and everywhere.
It's been a while and although they aren't sticking to the old way of releases, next Monday May 6th is the first Monday of the new month. So what do you guys think? Will we see 2 or 3 new subclasses for the Artificer then?

Yeah it's a bummer.

Jacqsynn is correct. As per Jeremy Crawford on March 26th: https://twitter.com/JeremyECrawford/status/1110602463982186497

True, but given the hype around the Artificer I had hoped for only a slight delay.

But it's not the bottom of MY priority list **Pouty Face** Hahaha :)
The alchemist doesn't make robots, it makes potions and has a franken-bird.

NOT POLISHED
The concept of a homunculus was made up by alchemists, so they were in fact concerned with homunculi.
But whatever, it's not like elves or dragons historically existed, and every artificer has mechanical knowledge.
True. I'm just cranky because I don't like these subclasses.

"It is just underwhelming and a palpable lull in progression."
I think you just summed the class up. And yes I'm play testing the class.
Okay maybe you guys could move this to the Artificer February 2019 Discussion forum? Just an idea because this has gone off-topic
