I have been working on creating a Pathfinder 2e character, and I love them. I am excited about getting to play. I love them so much that I want to convert them into a D&D 5e character to play them in D&D and Pathfinder.
I need help converting what I have written for Pathfinder 2e into a character compatible with D&D 5e.
I have digitally published my entire Pathfinder character concept on my website, so rather than reproducing everything on the DDB forums (since it is super long), can I post a link to my website page for my character concept and ask the DDB forums to help me convert the character concept from p2e to D&D 5e?
Will that get me into trouble with the forum mods? Should I reproduce everything on the forums here?
Thanks

I don't see why not because links are allowed. However, if you really think what you want to post might be prohibited, then I would recommend private messaging a mod. They usually reply relatively quickly, in my experience at least. So it's not like it would take forever to get your answer, as long as your message is to a moderator that still frequently posts to and checks in on the forums.

I would think that, since you're asking for conversation and contributing to the dialogue here, that's no problem. If you just bombard the board with posts to your site without participating otherwise, there might be a problem.

Probably won’t get you into trouble, no. It’s a reference, not an advertisement nor a bot-spamming thing.
Do you guys happen to know which of the sub-forums such a post would fit into? I was tempted to post in the one for Rogue, but then, I would also ask for story and lore help.

I have changed my mind about doing this. I will create an entirely new character for D&D.
I thought playing the same character in both systems would be fun, but there is too much that is different and does not have an equivalent. It is probably best to create a character using the 5e system rather than trying to convert a character created for an entirely different system.
Thanks though.

Converting the feats from Pathfinder to character abilities in D&D 5e.
Converting the places from Pathfinder, mentioned in his backstory and concept, into Forgotten Realms equivalents
Converting the lore for Pathfinder, mentioned in his concept and backstory, into compatible lore for the Forgotten Realms.
It feels like the two systems are not compatible at all, as there is so much more going on with Pathfinder.
1) We can help with both (especially 2 and 3, which are easy) if you provide more detail.
2) Pathfinder has more "buttons" but part of that is because it has feat taxes and coupons that 5e doesn't need. For example in PF2 only Thief Rogues get Dex to damage, while in 5e everyone using finesse and range weapons does. P2 also relies on item bonuses or automatic bonus progression for characters to keep up mathematically, while 5e's bounded accuracy makes that largely unnecessary.
I would just make them a Wood Elf Rogue with the Thief subclass and just reflavor it as a “Cavern Elf.” Keep it streamlined, let the system do its job. As for the background stuff, I am unfamiliar with Pathfinder so someone else would probably be better to assist with that.

You can try

Out of curiosity, what is that other character?

The character that I have for Pathfinder is a Half-Elf Rogue, Theif.
You can see the Pathfinder 2e concept here: https://blog.jaytelford.me/leka-rijal/
You can see a very early draft of his character sheet, (I am still learning how to use P2e sheets), here: https://1drv.ms/b/s!Agx5jw18MENmkmw5HsM3CeS_m8Tt
The problems I am having are:
It feels like the two systems are not compatible at all, as there is so much more going on with Pathfinder.
