LaTiaJacquise: We won’t be bringing back à la carte in that manner because of the strain it was beginning to put on the back end, but something like our new Starter Packs isn’t a bad idea!
WOTC_BrianPerry: We are in a lot of places. I'm here often. Zac and others are on Discord often. We have folks on the forums. Your comments online are (usually) not going into the ether.
WOTC_Zac: This has been our AI use policy since December 2023. It is very clear and direct, copied here in its entirety:
For 50 years, D&D has been built on the innovation, ingenuity, and hard work of talented people who sculpt a beautiful, creative game. That isn't changing. Our internal guidelines remain the same with regards to artificial intelligence tools: We require artists, writers, and creatives contributing to the D&D TTRPG to refrain from using AI generative tools to create final D&D products. We work with some of the most talented artists and creatives in the world, and we believe those people are what makes D&D great.
While that doesn't explicitly cover this feature, it indicates the attitude of the organization, which is very much "we're not using AI in creative work." The few times it's been brought to our attention, we've acted swiftly to address it.
Additionally, and I say this with the utmost love, but based on my own Journal notes I think most Journal entries would be trash training data. 😅 It would be full of fragments, inside jokes, notes to self, etc. And we'd be missing the context of what was actually said at the table if it wasn't written down. Even if I wanted to do something with the contents of Journal entries (and I don't), I don't know what useful data one would be able to get out of it.
WOTC_Zac:We're working on user uploaded reveals now. In the mean time, you can homebrew something, use the image as the monster's avatar, add the token to the map (as hidden from players) and use the monster reveal feature. That's a workaround the community discovered!
So does this mean content from Drops *won't* be reprinted in books?
GrandPyromania: Not at all! That said it's important for me to caveat that by saying that it's not a guarantee that Drops content will always appear in future books - a lot of it will depend on the product itself (and whether it would make sense to include any existing Drops content) and the timing (as our books often take a few years to produce).
GrandPyromania: The packs will give you access in the same way that buying a book on the marketplace gives you access. That means it'll also be shareable. As Brian mentioned in the blog, we're also looking into ways to allow it to be shareable by master-tier subscribers, but we don't have an ETA as to when we'll be able to roll it out.
LaTiaJacquise:Yes, I put this in my announcement post on r/dndbeyond yesterday:
unfortunately, adding DDB Drops to the D&D Beyond app has turned out to be a more complex situation than we expected. We're currently working with the mobile team on a solution, but we don't have an ETA at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep everyone updated on this issue!
Love the comments on AI. Also love the comment that they're not going to make employees stay up until midnight to push digital releases.
Am I reading that comment on Drops right? Is it somewhat reasonable to hope to see the Drops content in printed books at some point in the future? That sounds mighty nice to me.

Thanks for this Perringaiden.
It goes to show that people need to get a stick out of their arse & actually read official Reddits of stuff they feel about.
Some actually answer things.
