I'm a new user of the forum! I hate to possibly ask a question I'm not allowed to as my first post on the forum, but couldn't find anything in the rules against it.
I am currently running my first adventure as a DM with a new group (LMoP), and the new Essential Kit adventure looks awesome. But since I live in Europe, and Target does not ship here, I was wondering if someone in the US could buy the game for me, and send me the code to the PDF version for D&D Beyond? I would of course cover all expenses in advance. All extras in the box is not of interest and could be kept as an added "thank you" to whoever would do it.
As I said, don't know if this is against the rules, apologies if it is.
Firstly, the Essentials Kit should be coming out in Europe (hopefully) in September. There's nothing to suggest so far that it's not going to be available.
Secondly, it would be exceedingly unlikely that someone using this forum would buy the Essentials Kit and not have a use for the code.
Finally, the code isn't for a PDF version, DDB doesn't do PDFs
Like I said, I'm sorry if it is but the rules are not very clear on it so I had to ask.
I searched the rules for the forum about what content could not be posted or discussed, and only found information about illegal ways to obtain WOTC content.
This would be a 100% legit way of getting the code to the adventure, as it would mean someone bought the Essential Kit in the US and sent me the code, keeping the rest of the content.
EDIT: Thanks Dave. I know it is available in september, my problem is that since we're running the LMoP now, we will probably be done with it in september, and I would love to integrate it right now. I am not asking someone to sell me their code, but if they are buying one for themselves, could buy an extra copy for me and send me the code. The PDF comment was a figure of speach, I just meant the code to DDB. :)
Edit: In the future for questions you think might be grey areas, you can always PM a moderator first (they are listed in the Site Rules)
I am not a moderator, but according to my reading the Fandom ToS and Site Rules, your question is fine. The most relevant sections are 2a and 2e of the Site Rules and Guidlines. I personally would not call this advertising, but again, I am not a moderator. And this isn't illegal content as it would have been bought and paid, and you aren't trying to circumvent any restrictions D&D Beyond has, just use the stuff in the tool as intended.
