So I've been creating a new homebrew race with subraces. I had to edit the base race and for some reason the subraces aren't attached anymore. Do I have to create the subraces again from scratch? Or is there a way to create the new base race with the old subraces?

You need to recreate the subraces.This needs to be done before re-publishing the base race as the subraces must be recreated in the race editor and published first, then you publish the base race.

Also there is a forum for Homebrew discussion. It's called Homebrew & House Rules.

Cyb3r is right. That is one of the many reasons to not publish until you are done all of your changes.
