For the life of me I can't figure this out or find an answer anywhere.

I'm trying to added granted proficiencies for the background I made but when I go into character creation and select the background, it's all wrong. I want History and Persuasion to be granted and for there to be a choice of 2 out of 4 (Acrobatics, Sleight of Hand, Stealth, Deception). 

What shows up though is that History is granted. There are then 3 choice bars. For the first I can select everything other than Persuasion, Stealth, and Deception. For the other two only Acrobatics and Sleight of Hand show up. (See photo)

And here's what it looks like in the builder. To my understanding from reading the instructions, if you want the skill granted you just put it by itself. If you want it to be choices you put them all. I don't know why the single ones say choices when their not.

If someone could help me out or explain what I did wrong that would be awesome, Thanks.

Does the character already have Persuasion from their race or class? If so, then per the rules you can select any other skill instead.

The same thing might be happening with the other boxes  (you already have Deception and Stealth)

Eh, its tripped up plenty of other people before too.

One note about backgrounds is that no official background gives 4 skill proficiencies. They are all two skills + 2 languages/tools. Make sure your DM is on board with this.
