I am waiting for a walker of the waist the protecter of the the dessert, sandstorm was my favorite book of dnd it brought some really unique races and some really cool facts about dwarves . " Gimley Gang for life"
new faves are dugar, vedolken, and arococra... to be honest the under dark is the coolest to me now.
All this to say I have delved pretty deep and I do love a lot about wats new but there is still this hole where my sand giant character used to be. bring back giant heroes please, if I'm walking round with a dragon every game(on and off team) I feel as though a giant is not to much.
creating sand, swimming though sand, and sand manipulation;
dedicating touch, petrification, and thirst
are heavy hitting mechanics but I know the can be nerfed;
sand shaper, walker in the waist, ashworm dragoon(specialized mounts and combat abilities), lord of the tides and scorpion heritor and even scion of tem et nu all great prestiges
every part of that book could easily make thousands of stories. do you remember these... if not you need to look into it, because this is one book that can really get your characters on a different adventure.
bhukas and asheratis are great races that should also return.
in closing I think dnd beyond should incorporate the past into its future and remember with ought these rules its not dnd I feel as though being in a town a dessert in the snow all feel the same, and thats because there are no rules dictating the environment of coarse a good dm can solve this problem but it something to be thought of in my opinion.
oh and rune priest, I always wanted to do it but never got that chance.
You do realize that this website is not owned by the company that makes D&D, right? This website is just a fancy online digital bookstore that only sells D&D stuff. They don't actually write any of the books, they just sell them. If you would like to make suggestions to the company that actually publishes D&D about what they should publish next, you want to talk to these people: https://dnd.wizards.com
I realize this is a general discussion where I was just saying some cool things I remember so I can here others old favorites or opinions on what you think would make dnd more fun. do you have any ideas
I'm well educated, have above average IQ, and aced English in school.
And despite reading your post 3 times I still barely understand what the heck you're on about.
I think you're saying you're waiting for some things from a particular book from past D&D to do with sand- things?
If that's right, why not just take the book and recreate some of it using the Homebrew tools? I've made some Sand spells and an Earth-based Sorcerer subclass. It's not difficult if you want to get your Gaara on.
If that's not right then - I got nothing. Can you be more clear, please?

Anything you wish to see?
That was the best I could do under the circumstances. The organization was terrible, you kept bouncing back and forth between topics, mixing up comments about older D&D and newer D&D, mixing up comments about races and prestige classes and back again.... I did what I could....
DnD Beyond does not get to decide what goes into D&D. WotC makes those decisions, DDB just sells the books.
Sandstorm was a 3.5 Edition D&D supplement that centered around The Desert. It had new player character races, new monsters, new feats, new rules for survival in The Desert, and new Prestige Classes. DDefener apparently liked it a lot, and had a Sand Giant player character. They would like to see the Stuff from Sandstorm incorporated into D&D Beyond.
As side notes, they also feel that the 5th Edition D&D rules for environments are lacking. Their favorite player character races now are Duergar (A Dwarf subrace), Vedalken, and Aarakocra. Their favorite gaming environment is the Underdark.
They also ask what other folks would like to see added to D&D Beyond.

If you do consider posting it in the Homebrew & House Rules forum. The peeps that frequent there are used to reviewing and making homebrew and can probably provide useful feedback or help you if you get stuck.

Your spelling, punctuation, and grammar are atrocious:

There are already rules for hot and cold environments: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dmg/adventure-environments#WildernessSurvival
They will most likely never bring Large PCs or Prestige Classes back to 5e.
