Ever since Honor Among Thieves, I was wondering if we would finally see something I've been hoping we would get for years: D&D Lego. D&D as a brand would benefit from more publicity via Lego, and D&D in general and HAT both have/had a lot of cool fantasy scenes that would probably appeal to a lot of people and wouldn't be too hard to recreate.
So, because we clearly seem to not have gotten Lego for the recent movie, I was wondering what less biased & smarter people would think; Do you think that we'll ever see D&D Lego? And do you agree with my belief that it would be beneficial for both brands?
To be honest, I don't know. I don't mean that in the skeptical sense, just I don't know. They're obviously wanting to push publicity etc, but the film did do pretty badly financially...it would be interesting to know what is going through the execs' minds at the moment.

On the switch - fine. On the table? No way. To me Lego is a kids game that kids lose interest in in middle school, D& D is a game for teens and adults that kids get into starting in middle school and with growing as they get older. I can see a Lego version on a device as a transition but I have no interest in a Lego version of the tabletop game (just as I have no interest in the Minecraft version for much the same reasons).
There's a not insignificant market for "adult" lego lines (like their architecture series, etc) as well as a lot of adult consumers of lines like lego Star Wars for example. Sure some parents were buying their kids that Millennium Falcon that was going for $850 (marked down from over. a grand), but YouTube is filled with adults building that thing. I think all of the Lego anointed "master builders" are adults, much like the dream job of TTRPG designer is for the most part made up of adults.
That said, I don't see D&D being a brand Lego would be interested in. They already have Harry Potter, or at least support the brand for now, and every now and again they revamp their Castles line. They actually have a different line of figure and scale for it's Elves line, oh and they have Lord of the Rings in its traditional scale (I should have remembered that having to take my partner on a tour of the secondary markets of lego for some specific LotR stuff). If Lego were interested in getting a license for D&D, I think we'd have seen it by now.
Otherwise, Wi1dBi11, your sentiments are noted; and I'll accept you'll never accept an invitation to my Brikwars! table.

I do not think Hasbro will collaborate with LEGO. Hasbro already got their own toy brick line called Kre-O. Your best bet would be to go through LEGO Ideas and have the community vote on it. If it gets enough votes, LEGO and/or Hasbro might reach out to each other to work something out.

Yeah, since LEGO is a direct competitor of Hasbro I don't see much interest in a collaboration being likely.

In my limited experience, I've seen people of all ages interested in and using Lego as a cool and creative tool, something to collect, something to spend time and effort building to work the mind, and something to be used as a toy for entertainment. As Midnight mentioned, series like the Architecture one that are designed to appeal to older audiences would likely not be a thing if Lego were only for young children or little kids.

Both of you made a lot of good points; This is why I feel that, despite the fact that D&D Lego will be awesome, I'm not particularly positive about the prospects of this collaboration ever occurring.

Fascinating and exciting! The idea seems to have been designed by fans and there are plenty of other interesting designs that unfortunately didn't make it, such as one that was a replica of the Yawning Portal and a couple of rooms from the Dungeon of the Mad Mage!
I'm super excited fort his and have edited my first post to reflect this new knowledge. I kinda feel like a doofus though for not realizing this and posting the thread though lol.

For those who do not want to follow a link, here are the concept images. Like many fan-submitted Lego sets which get made into a real set, there might be changes to the final product. The dragon color, for example, might change (the fan submitted a red dragon version as well--and I expect they'll go with red because it is more iconic to D&D). Still, it looks great--cannot wait to see the final version!

I still enjoy legos on occasion, and am kid enough(inside) to enjoy kid games. I’ve also played with and DMed for teens as well as adults and the games are fairly different in terms of styles of play. That’s what I mean about legos being (primarily) for kids and younger teens and D&D being for older teens and adults.

HERE.Lego is already making a D&D themed set - they announced it earlier this year, after doing contest for fans to come up with the design.
On mobile do I cannot post a picture of the design, but is a link to an article about it: https://nerdist.com/article/dungeons-dragons-lego-set-50th-anniversary-voting-wizards-of-the-coast/

While true, this ignores the fact that copying link addresses on iPhones is unnecessarily annoying to accomplish.
