Hey guys I was trying to make a weapon for my monk PC and he wanted it to do switch damamge....I was working throught the modifiers and its not working like I want it to.
I wanted it to be a versitile function so that on a bonus action he could switch the type of damamge. I wanted to have it be versitile so that the user can use a bonus action two switch between fire damage and extra power damage. So i modified weapon type to versitile to add 2d6 damager and the base damage was unarmed damage to 1d6 and fire bonus damage on 1d4.
For some reason its not working the versitile function is only rolling 1d6 and adding the fire damage on Avrae
ANY HELP
Monk Weapon
This weapon is specilized by General General for the Monks.
This weapon has two damage states. The user must use a bonus action to switch states. Base damage for this weapon is 1d6
Flame Function - When switching to the flame function the user does an extra 1d4 fire damage. If hit is 18 or above the target must make a dexterity save or be set on fire taking 1d4 damage at the beginning of the targets turn and must user their action to put the fire out.
Power Function - When switching to the Power Function of these gauntlets the damage becomes 2d6+STR. If the user uses a ki point they can add 1d4 additional damage.
Versatile doesn’t do that. The versatile property is for stuff like a longsword, it takes whatever the base damage as the 1-handed damage and makes the weapon “versatile” so it can also be used 2-handed to do more damage. So a 1d8 for a longsword can do 1d10 damage when wielded with two hands.
Those Kinda of temporary effects you are trying to accomplish aren’t actually possible at this time.
