I was hoping to maybe get some assistance with a Proficiency Bonus modification. I have already been trying to create this myself, but have not been able to with my limited experience creating Homebrews, so far. I know for a fact what I am trying to do is possible, as it was done here by another user. I cannot see how they configured this and I reached out to them, but have not received a response.
So my situation is that I am trying to help my DM run his campaign and he is doing a unique approach to multiclassing. He is allowing extensive multiclassing, but wants to limit the Proficiency Bonus to equal the level of the primary class for each character. This means I need to create feats that would each remove a certain number from the character's Proficiency bonus.
For example: a character that is level 4 Paladin / level 2 cleric, is technically a level 6 character with a Proficiency bonus of +3. I want to reduce that back to +2. If that character decides to multiclass to additional classes more so than leveling the primary Paladin class, I would need additional feats to reduce and control that Proficiency bonus more.
Any help folks could provide would be greatly appreciate. I am actually excited to see the solution so I can become more familiarized with how to create better Homebrews.
I wouldn't sweat it too much. The tools as is are sufficient, but not documented. So even as a person who uses them reasonable often, I still had some trouble figuring it out.
So, I have a question, how would you be able to increase proficiency bonus using a ability modifier using dndbeyond's homebrew, because when I tried doing (Add Modifier -> Bonus -> Proficiency Bonus -> Strength) It didn't work.
Why Can't I modify the proficiency bonus through the homebrew tools? The ioun stone of mastery allows you to do that , give me that option in an item i am creating.
You can, using the Bonus - Proficiency Bonus modifier Houligan mentioned in post #2. But you're limited to adding a fixed value, not an Ability Score (which is what Homebrewiest was wanting to do.) I added a homebrew item using Bonus - Proficiency Bonus, fixed value: -1 and it reduced my proficiency by 1. So, knock yourself out.

Hey naruhoodie , yeah i tried to add bonus-Proficiency Bonus fixed value:1 but no dice , it will not modify. Maybe they changed something , I tried it with a feat and an item duplicating the ioun stone of mastery both did not allow me to increase it . I can add the proficiency to a specific attribute but not to the general proficiency. I can add the ioun stone of mastery that actually works but that stone requires attunement . I am trying to add it without attunement as our campaign is epic level and trying to add paragon feat ( homebrew) . Have you tried it with a value of 1 instead?
I'd used an existing magic item that didn't require attunement and added the modifier, using -1. I just changed the modifier to 2, and it works.
If you created a magic item by copying the Ioun Stone and then removing the attunement requirement, then that's the problem: copying an attunement item and removing attunement causes a glitch where the modifiers won't work.
It's possible that the modifier doesn't work on Feats; I'm checking that right now.
As always, note that it can take up to 20 minutes for homebrew changes to percolate to character sheets, and if more time has passed you may need to "wake up" the character by clicking the Inspiration box twice and then reloading the page, which will refresh the cache. For a Feat, you might also need to remove and re-add it for the changes to show.

Thank you. I see what I was doing wrong there. Novice mistake, I should have tinkered more with the different drop down options.

Edit: It worked on a feat. Enjoy!
