Is there any way (either via subclass or homebrew feat) to get rangers' spellcasting to mimic that of paladins (i.e. know every spell on the ranger list, prepare 1/2 ranger level + WIS modifier at the end of a long rest)?
I know the D&D Beyond character sheet doesn't exactly restrict "known spells" casters from removing/adding known spells whenever they want, so it's not terribly difficult to tell my player she can do that whenever she does a long rest, but the number of spells available is a tricky thing. Worst-case scenario is a custom feat that lets her choose x spells to learn from the ranger list and I just manually set x to whatever it should be at a given level, but I'd really love a more automated solution (having to deal with two different locations on the character sheet whenever she wants to swap anything will also be annoying).
Fingers crossed for homebrew classes that would make this kind of nonsense easy.
Bump. Does anyone know of a way to do this on a character sheet? Our campaign is running a homebrewed and reworked Ranger but we have not figured out a way to change the sheet to support Prepared Caster from Known Caster.

Thanks for any help and advice.
You can't edit classes on here, and probably never will be able to (making a class is WAY harder than anything else. TRUST ME I'm doing it).

There is no possible way to mechanically change a Spontaneous Caster to Prepared on DDB. However, it is possible to o just select new known spells every long rest, it will effectively be the same as the sheet doesn’t know the difference.
I made a homebrew feat that I've kept private that allows me to add Ranger spells. It's not the most elegant solution, but it works if you're trying to mimic how other prep casters get spells.
"You prepare the list of ranger spells that are available for you to cast, choosing from the ranger spell list. When you do so, choose a number of ranger spells equal to your Wisdom modifier + half your ranger level, rounded down (minimum of one spell). The spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots."
I couldn't come up with a way to count the additional spells you might receive this way as a variable, which is why it's a private feat.

I hadn't thought of making a feat to do this. Did you make it and is it public?
Bump, looking for something similar
