Hello!

I am in the process of creating a homebrew race, and I would like that race to grant the "Fey Touched" feat.

I have access to the feat through ownership of, I believe, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.

I have been going into racial traits, and then the modifiers. I then choose "feat" from the modifier type dropdown. However, "Fey Touched" is then not part of the available feat choices. I think other feats from various sources are also missing.

On the other hand, feats from sources such as the Players' Handbook do show up.

If I pick "choose a feat" and go into character creation, the full suite of feats is there, including "Fey Touched".

Are simply not all feats available through the homebrew creation process? Or am I missing anything else?

I appreciate there are work-arounds (such as the "choose a feat" option or adding it directly to the character sheet afterwards), but I would rather just make it work behind the screens if possible.

Any assistance anyone might be able to offer is appreciated.

You cannot. Just “choose a feat.” Or you could recreate the feat from scratch as a racial trait. Or you could create an original trait and then that PC could get both that and the feat.

Do you know why some paid-for feats do show up but not others?

No. My guess is because the only official use for the Feat Modifier is the Choose a Feat subtype so they stopped adding individual feats to the list.
