{{scalevalue}} - a class-specific value, such as Rage Damage for a barbarian
Am trying to refer to barbarians rage damage but keep getting an scalevalue - No level scale data available error was wondering of people knew how to refer to rage damage.

I think it may refer to the scalable feature that goes along with the snippet code. For example, I can't say {{scalevalue:sneakattack}} a rogue subclass. I can make a new scale value specifically within the feature. Unfortunately, I'm not sure.
"The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a genteel Black Hole that knows how to read." - Terry Pratchett
I think I have a solution. If you have a feature, create a level scaling feature mimicking rage and then add {{scalevalue}} in the feature's snippet. This should create the intended look.

could someone please provide a more in-depth explanation here on how the different snippets are used, how one can manipulate them, and maybe some examples on how the different ones are used in practice to get proper results? I am lost trying to understand how to use the snippet box as a whole when making custom stuff on my sheet, I don't understand the basics needed to use them but I want to be able to apply them to my things, so please have the patience to help a bloke out!
I'm not - nor was I ever - your "obstacle" until you've deemed me as such, nor am I your wallet, my hard earnt money is not yours by deault.

I will always miss what you were, but I will never miss what you've become.
Currently, the only published documentation is on the link I provided above to the changelog.
I'm sorry, I just don't understand how to apply or incorportate the snippet stuff in the sheet. is there any other way to explain how to use it for someone who's not familiar with code?

Well, I discovered I don't have the slightest clue how snippets work or how to use them when I tried to add a custom action on my character sheet. there's a box for snippets and a box for description, and I can't figure out how am I supposed to use this. :(

Snippets are what show up in the character sheet, they provide at a glance information about an ability. Imagine they're like the thing you write down on your character sheet to remember your ability.
For example, my 5th level sorcerer has the following snippet on her character sheet:
You have 5 sorcery points that you regain when you finish a long rest. You can use your sorcery points to gain additional spell slots.
In the snippet editor, it appears like:
You have {{scalevalue}} sorcery points that you regain when you finish a long rest. You can use your sorcery points to gain additional spell slots.
Similarly, Careful Spell appears like this:
You can spend 1 sorcery point to allow up to +3 creatures to automatically succeed on the saving throw of a spell you cast.
When in the editor it's
You can spend 1 sorcery point to allow up to {{modifier:cha}} creatures to automatically succeed on the saving throw of a spell you cast.

Snippets are only for making text fields, right? You can't use those when inputting damage overrides or something? So the result of a snippet is just text, not integer calculations used for modifiers and such?

Snippets are both text and calculations. As I explain above they allow for a quick reference to a feature, feat, or trait.

they allow for a quick reference to a feature, feat, or trait.
So when trying to display text you can make a link to a feat? Or are you saying you can use snippets when making a feat and inputting the feat's modifiers to so they reflect something specific to the character that takes the feat? If you didn't understand my question please just explain what you meant by this.

So we got told this is a thing

yeah i tried {{scalevalue:rage}} but it gave me the same error, so hopefully some coding guidlines will come out soon.

Tacking on to this thread, has anyone figured out the snippet math? I'm trying to have this round down: {{classlevel/3}}.
{{(classlevel/3)@rounddown}}
Thanks @Filcat you're the bomb dot com!

Is there a snippet for movement? I’m trying to make a feet that involves 1.5x movement.
Snippets are only for making text fields, right? You can't use those when inputting damage overrides or something? So the result of a snippet is just text, not integer calculations used for modifiers and such?
No, but the change in movement will already be shown under speed.
