One of my players is a Rune Knight Fighter, and as part of the campaign, I'm giving him the opportunity to discover a few new runes by completing quests etc. I've got ideas for them that I'm tinkering with, but I have no idea how I would add them onto D&D Beyond.
I'm guessing the simplest solution is to treat them as a magic item, right? Is there any way to actually integrate them into his class features, short of recreating the entire subclass?
If you use the original subclass as a template it’ll port over everything but the description. You can add that back in by means of a simple copy/paste. The runes are just Options attached to that class feature, and you can add the new runes by adding more Options. If you need help with that, there is a full walkthrough on Options in the Subclasses & Races FAQ #1: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq).
