I'd like to choose the "Blessed Warrior" subclass for my paladin, but can't justify paying full price for Tasha's Cauldron of Everything for that one optional feature. Instead I was going to create copies of the 2 Cleric cantrips I wanted as homebrews and add them to my spell list that way.
I've made them available to the Paladin class they appear in the "Manage Spells" sidebar but with the option to "Learn" greyed out, so I can't cast it. I don't think it's because it's learned already, because they don't appear in my spell list. All the others are there with the option to "Prepare" them, as normal. This happens in both the sidebar and in Section 2 of the character builder. Hopefully this screenshot works (https://www.photobox.co.uk/my/photo/full?photo_id=505364810344) I would include a screenshot but it's not letting me upload directly.
I thought long resting may mean I learn them, but that hasn't worked.
How can I go about adding Guidance & Sacred Flame to my character sheet, rather than just saying "Learn"?
I thought along those lines, but I didn't get to choose spells when I levelled up. I'm new to playing Paladin but as I understand it, I have access to all available Paladin spells (spells available) and prepare some each rest (spells prepared), so there's no learning/selecting which spells I want and no way to take two out and replace with what I've made.
Theoretically, I need to add them to my list of available spells, which they technically are, I just don't know how to get past the "Learn" thing.

Do you have enough spell slots to learn them?

Did you make them cantrips or spells, because I don't think paladins get any cantrips, so that might be why it isn't working?
Create a feat and follow the steps explained in the Subclasses & Species FAQ #14, it’s close enough: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq).

Cheers for this, a bit of playing about but that's worked. Just created a homebrew Feat and followed roughly along with that tutorial.
