So I am in the process of creating a custom homebrew race, and I can't find anything on making the ability score improvements work like variant human, I have it to where two scores get increased, however when you choose the second one it still shows the previous ability score. If possible is there something specific I can do to modify that?

Tip: make a copy of the variant human an see how they did. Then do the same for your hb race.

Im having this same issue, and i have done just that with copying variant human and even half elf. both of them do the same thing and i have copied it, yet on the home brew race ive made it Still does not clear out the previously selected ability choice.

Re-save the whole race, wait 20 minutes, then if it still isn’t working remove the race from your character and add it back again.

Nope....still doesn't work, i even made a variant of Human Variant, added a third choice for ability score improvement, and i can select the same three attributes in all three. I even made a straight One-to-One copy of Human Variant with no deviations: can still pick the same ability score twice. There seems to be no way for Home brew creations to Limit the selection of how many ability score increases there are.

I’m sorry, I misread the post. No, it is not currently possible to do that. That preclusion is handled on the back end and we cannot access that code.

oof, well that sucks. Well then its up to us DM's to make sure our players are building their characters correctly. ^_^
