I am currently looking clean way to create a racial feat like the Changlings "Changeling Instincts" or Lizardfolk's "Nature's Intuition." The sort of feat that allows a player to select 2 of a subset of skills.
I want my feat to have a specified subset that is different from any of the current groupings, but when attempting to a Modifier -> Proficiency -> "Choose" such as what is done when looking at a copy of the Lizardfolk, for example, there is no way to create a custom "Choose a X skill" type option that I am looking to make.
Create several Options, 1 for each skill and attach the Modifier for the corresponding skills to the correct Options. Like, say for example you want it to be Perception or Persuasion. So then you would make 1 Option named âPerceptionâ and attach Modifier: Proficiency->Subtype: Perception to it, then you would make an Option named âPersuasionâ and attach Modifier: Proficiency->Subtype: Persuasion to it. If you need more help properly setting up Options, please consult the Homebrew Subclasses & Races FAQ #1: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq).
Hi! I understand the process of creating these options for a given trait, but how do I allow multiple options to be chosen (re: 2 of a subset of skills, not just 1)? Do I have to entirely recreate the racial trait a second time in order to allow the player to select one of the set again?

As I understand it, I should be able to declare that a skill has option at levels 1,1 and therefore get to pick twice in the skill when creating the character. Thank you for your FAQ page as well, it has helped me a lot!

What is the best way to go about doing this?

I hope that helps.

I apologize, I answered my own question with a bit of searching here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/67231-multiple-options
