This Subclass cannot be shared with the community for the following reasons:
This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required levels.
Remember, private homebrew is automatically shared with other users in your campaigns and does not need to be shared with the community for players to access.
Your patron is not a being of thought or ambition, but of hunger, patience, and endless consumption. It may be a primordial slime that seeps through the cracks of reality, an ancient sentient ooze lurking in the deepest caverns, or a fragment of a greater, unknowable mass that devours all it touches. Where other patrons scheme, your patron simply absorbs.
Those who form a pact with such an entity are forever changed. Their magic thickens, congeals, and drips with alien life. Spells do not simply manifest—they slough off, taking shape as crawling fragments of living sludge. Your body, too, begins to lose its rigid certainty, becoming more fluid, more adaptable… more consumable.
Ooze patrons are drawn to inevitability: erosion, decay, the slow collapse of all things into formless matter. Their warlocks often reflect this philosophy, whether they revel in it or resist it—becoming creeping forces on the battlefield, spreading, dividing, and overwhelming their foes through relentless, suffocating pressure.
To walk this path is to surrender the idea of permanence. Flesh is temporary. Shape is optional. In the end, all things dissolve—and your patron is always hungry.
Ooze Spells
The magic of your patron ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Warlock level specified in the Ooze Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
When you cast a spell using a Pact Magic spell slot, a portion of that magic congeals into a gelatinous mass that sloughs off your body and appears in an unoccupied space you can see within 10 feet of you. This mass forms a Tiny ooze, using the Magic Slime stat block. The ooze is a living, barely sentient creature. You determine its color and general shape when it appears. It is friendly to you and your allies and obeys your commands. The ooze remains for 10 minutes, until it is reduced to 0 hit points, or until you die, at which point it dissolves into inert sludge.
The Ooze in Combat. In combat, the oozes share your initiative count and takes its turn immediately after yours. They can move and use their Reactions on their own, but they take only the Dodge action on their turns unless you command them otherwise. You can use a Bonus Action to command one or more of your oozes to take an action from its stat block or another action available to it. In addition, when you take the Attack action, you can forgo one of your attacks to allow each ooze to make one Pseudopod attack. If you have the Incapacitated condition, the oozes can act independently and is no longer limited to the Dodge action.
Magic Slime Stat Block. Magic Slime Tiny Ooze
Armor Class. 13 + your Charisma modifier Hit Points. 5 + five times your Warlock level (Hit Dice: a number of d8s equal to your Warlock level) Speed. 20 ft., climb 20 ft.
STR 14 (+2) DEX 3 (−4) CON 20 (+5) INT 1 (−5) WIS 6 (−2) CHA 1 (−5)
Senses. Blindsight 60 ft. (blind beyond this radius), Passive Perception 8 Languages. Understands the languages you know Proficiency Bonus. equals your Proficiency Bonus
Traits:
Amorphous. The ooze can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch without squeezing.
Primal Bond. The ooze adds your Proficiency Bonus to its ability checks and saving throws.
Spider Climb. The ooze can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Actions:
Pseudopod. Melee Spell Attack: your spell attack modifier to hit, reach 5 ft. Hit: 1d8 + 2 + your Charisma modifier damage. When the ooze is created, choose the damage type: acid, bludgeoning, or poison.
Gooey Shell
As a Magic action, viscous slime coats your body. You gain temporary hit points equal to your Warlock level + your Charisma modifier.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
While you have these temporary hit points, your body becomes slick and adhesive. When a creature hits you with a melee attack while within 5 feet of you, its speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of its next turn.
Split Form
Your body learns to partially dissolve and reform through your summoned oozes. When you take damage, you can use your Reaction to merge with one ooze you created with your Gelatinous Magic feature that is within 30 feet of you. When you do, you teleport to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of that ooze, and the ooze is destroyed. You then gain resistance to the triggering damage until the end of the current turn.
Additionally, as a Bonus Action on your turn, you can flow through your oozes. You can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of one of your oozes without destroying it.
Endless Feast
As a Magic action, you can sacrifice one ooze created by your Gelatinous Magic feature to unleash one of the following effects (the effects damage type is the same as the sacrificed ooze's pseudopod damage type):
Waltz. You expel a surging ribbon of corrosive slime in a line 15 feet long and 5 feet wide originating from you. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC, taking 3d6 damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. When a creature fails this saving throw, you can immediately move up to 15 feet without provoking opportunity attacks and repeat this effect. You can repeat this effect a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and all repetitions are part of the same action.
Chomp. The sacrificed ooze violently expands and snaps at nearby creatures. Each creature of your choice within 5 feet of the ooze must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC, taking 10d6 damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If at least one creature fails this saving throw, the ooze is not destroyed.
Dread. You launch a torrent of writhing sludge in a line 30 feet long and 10 feet wide originating from you and extending toward a space you can see. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC, taking 3d6 damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. At the end of the line, the ooze detonates. Resolve the Chomp effect centered on that space.
i've been dealing with this error message for all my homebrew subclasses and am not sure how to fix it, ive tried saving the homebrew with the big yellow button several times but it won't change the error. ive tried making the subclass from scratch and from an existing subclass and i get the same error message, ive tried making it on different dnd beyond accounts and that hasn't changed the message either...
This Subclass cannot be shared with the community for the following reasons:
COPY_OF_Archfey Patron is currently too similar to Archfey Patron to share with the community.
This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required levels.
Remember, private homebrew is automatically shared with other users in your campaigns and does not need to be shared with the community for players to access.
This is a thing they break every few months or so. It's not really clear why it keeps happening.
Sometimes it's possible to work around it by adding dummy features at certain levels. In some cases it's been helpful to add dummy features at the levels that would be expected for the other version of the class (i.e., 5e vs. 5.5e) while in other cases adding a dummy feature at level 1 has helped regardless of the class involved. In some cases neither of these things work and you just have to wait for them to fix it again.
