So I'm not sure where I originally heard this idea, but just curious what you guys think about because this has been an idea that has been an bouncing around in my group for a bit. In short, the concept stems from the idea that your race should play a larger roll in your hit die. So you class die would be your Base hit die, then a gnome would give a -1 modifier, while a human gives a +0 and a half-orc gives a +1. So if you were to pick a rogue, in that order the hit die would from a d8 -> d6 for the gnome, stays the same for human, but goes to d10 for the half-orc. Of course this wold need to be flushed out more, like is the min a d4 or d6, and for barbarian's does the +1 modifier do nothing or do we want to try out 2d6? The more I think about this idea, the more I like the concept but not sure if it's a good idea.
