Hey all, I have created an item (a magical belt) which gives +2 to dex.
As a test, I added it to a low dex character and it looks like it works! But when added to a character with a dex of 20, it doesn't add anything. Is there an override setting somewhere I need to set on either my campaign or the item, or does dnd beyond not support stats over 20?
(I'm not worried as much about balance, as this is a level 12+ game atm).
Thanks!

yes. There is a second modifier you need to add, in addition to the bonus to DEX. Here is the navigation:
Type: Bonus > Subtype: Ability Score Maximum > Ability Score: Dex (or whatever you want to extend the max of) > Fixed value: 2 (or whatever number you want to increase the max by)
As you discovered, the “bonus” modifier only takes things to 20. As Koradgee mentioned, you need 2 modifiers: Stacking Bonus to make a modifier capable of going above 20, and Modifier: Bonus->Subtype: Ability Score Maximum to actually let it.
