I really like the description of the Oculus, i think it's pretty cool. There aren't really any defining traits, thouhg. like that would be unique for the oculus. Maybe try adding a few.

Thanks, I considered adding eye ray then I figured it being able to use ray of death was a bit over the top. What do you suggest I add?

 Definitely some kind of ray, but not super op, you're right. but maybe you could do some sort of thing that warps reality a tiny bit when they sleep. 

I can try. Or maybe give them eye-rays but like minor illusions.
