Avery kicks his shin, hurting himself more than Soldaer
"And just what did you think that would do?" Soldaer says with a laugh. His tone and expression have changed; he's now more curious and amused by Avery's continued antics than anything.
"I dunno, something?"
Soldaer suddenly stops walking. A smile slowly grows across his face, and he starts laughing. When he finally stops laughing, he turns back to Avery. "You know what kid, I like you. You could use a little manners, but I like you," he says with a smile.
"Hey, i'm not that young."
"I'm over 200 years old, so I still have the right to call you kid," Soldaer says with a laugh.
Avery kicks his shin again, to the same outcome as before
"C'mon kid. Let's get you back to the tavern before you hurt yourself and Reirlin here has to heal you again." Soldaer says, still laughing.
"Imma commit larsony"
Soldaer's expression goes cold again suddenly. "Haven't heard that term before, but if it means you're going to steal something again you little thief, you'd better be prepared to deal with us again. You won't like the consequences then." (Intimidation check: 18)
"You're not my dad!" Avery sticks his tongue out at Soldaer
"I never said I was your dad, although it certainly seems like you need someone to keep an eye on you," he says. "Also, why were you so insistent on keeping the staff, even after you knew it was next to worthless?"
"Uh..... bye!" Avery starts running for the tavern

Come out now Avery. You know you can't hide. Avery can hear the Couatl speaking to him telepathically. That offer from at the lake still stands. Return the staff, and the brothers may just be willing to forgive you. As for a potential patron, how would you like to have a true deity as one? I may be able to arrange it, especially considering that several have already taken notice of your actions with Soldaer and the Aasimar brothers. It all depends on your actions going forward.

Oh yeah, don't forget to be kind and loving and stuff. Not on during weekends.
Hanzo places a hand on the hilt of his katana. "Yūwaku suru kodomo-tachi wa kono sekai ni wa ibasho ga arimasen. Tempting children has no place in this world."
The Tavern Mother (Trust me, it's not as weird as it sounds!)
I am the God-Queen of Trickery, Cunning, Lies, and Gaslighting- but you already knew that...
"Moon's Haunted." *Cocks shotgun with malicious intent*
"Eliksni must rise...yes?"

When it comes to pronouns I prefer Variks-Senpai (But I'm a dude. Pronouns are weird.)
"I don't have the staff!"
I play a miriad of characters at the lord's rest inn
Two things are infinite: The universe, and human stupidity; and I'm not so sure about the universe.
Scifi horror is quite the trip :) Comics and a story

The Couatl's focus shifted to Hanzo as soon as it heard what he said.
Tempting?! Hanzo can hear anger and incredulity in the voice speaking in his mind I am no devil to tempt children! I AM A COUATL FROM MT. CELESTE ITESLF!!!! I do not tempt anyone! That Child stole from the one I am the companion of, and he very much so wants it back, or at least to see that child brought to justice!
Hanzo looks from Avery to the Couatl. "If your master really wanted that staff, he should've taken better care of it. Leave the child." Hanzo draws his sword. "Or feel the Wrath of Hell..."

Then where is it? Still in that vehicle of yours? You need to face the consequences of your actions, especially if that staff was destroyed.
