I'm stuck, i'm wet, its dark. I woke up in here, and i can't get out!
Do you have any sense of where you might be? Listen for noises around you. Are there any distinct smells?
Hm.... i'm submerged in water. I can't hear anything specific, and smells don't work
You can breathe underwater, can't you?
I mean, a little. But i have no clue how long i've been down here.... in here?

I was on the couch i think
Do you know why anyone would do this to you?
I don't know. Honestly i could have just sleepwalked here.
And closed yourself in?
Maybe i thought it was too bright or loud? Came in here to be in the dark, and someone put something on top of the barrel??
Maybe. I'll ask the staff to check the cellars.
That would be nice, its cramped in here. Cosy when i'm not awake, but cramped when i am.
Xorius speaks with the tiefling bartender. She heads down into the cellars, looking through the different barrels.
*Is he down there?*
*Yep*
Theres a barrel with a crate on the top, along with someone hitting it from the inside
The tiefling kneels next to the barrel. "I'm going to have to ask you to wear a blindfold on the way back up. I'm surprised you were lucky enough to make it here without falling."

The tiefling kneels next to the barrel. "I'm going to have to ask you to wear a blindfold on the way back up. I'm surprised you were lucky enough to make it here without falling."
They just tap on it, since its hard to talk in a water filled barrel
"You have a lot less to lose by sharing your life story then I do by sharing mine. It's the only thing I really have to trade. Why don't you tell me more about yourself, and I'll tell you where I'm from."
Soldaer sighs quietly at that, almost as though burdened by something. "Well, I'll give you a synopsis of sorts, since I'm over 200 years old, and that will take a lot of time to fully recount otherwise." Soldaer takes another sip of his Feywine, draining his glass, before pouring himself a new one.
"Well, I guess I'll start at the beginning." Soldaer sighs again, taking one more sip before diving in. I was actually born over 250 years ago in my world, in mid spring. I spent my first 20 years with my parents for the most part, learning what they had to teach me of the world around us. After that, I was trained for the next 10 years of my life under my village's head ranger. He took me on several forays into the Feywild as part of my training, and that's why I'm younger than I should be: time passes differently and unpredictably in the Feywild compared to the material plane." Soldaer takes a deep breath, and another sip of his Feywine.
"That's pretty interesting."
"Indeed, and that's just the beginning. I met Shade, my companion and friend for nearly 175 years now, on one of our excursions into the Feywild when she and her pride saved us from a pack of [Tooltip Not Found], and then we in turn saved her from dying to her injuries." Soldaer sighs and takes another sip of his Feywine before continuing. "After my training was complete, I spent several years as part of the guard, patrolling the forest for potential enemies. On one such patrol, I was blessed with an encounter few mortals can say that they have had: I was blessed to meet my deity, Eilistraee. She came to me in the form of a beautiful Drow woman, as is usual for her, and told me that I was to be one of her champions, a Chosen if you will."
"I was resting beside a pool fed by a waterfall in a small clearing in the forest. It was, and still is, one of my quiet places, a place I go to be with myself and escape from the pressures of my station. As I said, I was resting here, and actually setting camp when Eilistraee, or at least one of her avatars, came to me. She taught me of a new source of power and magic: that of the moon and stars, her domain. She blessed me with those powers and taught me how to use them, and even showed me how to increase their power over time. She gifted me much of the gear I have, including my rapier and armor."
"I'm not even sure how long I was in that starlit clearing, but it seemed both like a matter of minutes and eons had passed when she finally left and I finally went to sleep." Soldaer takes another sip from his glass.
"That's certainly more exciting than anything I've ever done."
*Just curious, but you do know who Eilistraee, is right?*
"If you think that's exciting, I'll give you another highlight from my life." Soldaer sighs once more, but this time there's a slightly excited gleam in his eye as he dives in. "About 120 years after my encounter with Eilistraee, my village came under threat for a very powerful foe: and adult green dragon named Tizzerian. He had been sleeping in our forest home for centuries apparently, and did not take too kindly to our having 'invaded' his home, despite various villages having existed in the forest for millennia before he was even born.
"He swooped down on our village with a vengeance, much different than usual for a green. We successfully drove him off, and only a handful died in the initial attack, but we knew he wouldn't stay away for long. Thus, I was elected to lead a hunting party to find him and kill him. We successfully tracked him to his lair, and when he next came out, we attacked him. It was a brutal fight, and several members of my group were killed, but in the end, we defeated Tizzerian. I claimed several trophies from him, and his hoard, as the kill was named mine." With that, Soldaer reaches up into his left bracer, and pulls out a slightly serrated dagger that appears to be made out of an extremely large tooth, as the blade is over 12 inches long. "This is, or was, one of Tizzerian's teeth. I crafted it as an extra weapon, and a memento of the battle. I also have Tizzerian's head in my room, mounted on the wall over my fireplace." Now finished with the tale, Soldaer sets the dagger down on the table, takes a deep breath and another sip of his Feywine, and leans back in his chair once more.
*Yes, I do. I don't use almost any FR lore, but I know a lot of it.*
"That's pretty amazing. I can't believe how much skill and bravery that must have taken." Chase sighs. "My story is pretty short, and not that interesting, really. My mother died during childbirth. My father did his best to raise me alone, but he died of disease when I was fourteen. I didn't have any other family, and I couldn't let myself be stuck in an orphanage, so I went out onto the streets. As soon as I could get enough money to leave, I did, and here I am now."
*Great. Yeah, I made a few exceptions to the "No Metal" rule for druids since Eilistraee is Soldaer's deity, and the one who guided him to the path of being a Circle of Stars Druid.*
Soldaer sighs quietly, sadness and compassion in his eyes. "Unfortunately, a tale I've heard all too many times, even in my own world. Even some of my former companions had similar backstories, although they always found ways out of it somehow." Soldaer laughs a little at that. "I wonder what their up to now..." His voice trails off and he stares off into the distance contemplatively.
"I just recently got reunited with Egrien and Reirlin over there" he nods over towards the table in the corner where they're sitting, "after decades of being apart from them. In fact, they were two of the adventurers who came to my people's aid when we requested aid to help clear out the rest of the more... dangerous denizens of our forest, such as some wyverns, even a purple worm, and another dragon."
"Maybe I could end up like that, one day. But I doubt it. I don't really have very many talents."
"I doubt that you're entirely talentless. You have to have some skills to have survived on the streets as well as you have, not mention resourcefulness."
"Maybe so. But that doesn't matter. I don't have magic, or some flashy sword, or a mystical connection to the land. So I'm nothing."
"Well, I'd be willing to train you in being a ranger if you want. I have some spare equipment in my room."

Avery is trapped in a water filled barrel
I can't find you. Where are you, mortal?
I'm stuck, i'm wet, its dark. I woke up in here, and i can't get out!
Do you have any sense of where you might be? Listen for noises around you. Are there any distinct smells?
Hm.... i'm submerged in water. I can't hear anything specific, and smells don't work
You can breathe underwater, can't you?
I mean, a little. But i have no clue how long i've been down here.... in here?
Where were you when you feel asleep?
They just tap on it, since its hard to talk in a water filled barrel
The crate is lifted off. A golden hand holds out a blindfold.
Avery puts the blindfold on, stumbling out of the barrel coughing, "Why do i need to wear this?"
*Pretty good. Up for a little RP before I need to get to bed?*
*Sure, i can do that*
*Sweet!*
Soldaer is currently at a table conversing with Chase.
Reirlin and Egrien are in a corner talking and drinking a couple ales.
Shade and Tehonican (Egrien's Couatl) are walking and flying, respectively, through the crowd, enjoying the attention and each other's company.
*Hmmmm who to use.... toook me a while to think, here.*
A rock gnome walks over to The duo in the corner, followed by a faceless humanoid, "Hello, i'm new around here,"
The shorter of the two Aasimar turn towards the gnome. "Greeting. We're relatively new here as well. My name is Egrien. This is my brother, Reirlin." With that, the taller and burlier Aasimar nods towards the gnome respectively, lifting his mug in salutation.
"Nice to meet you, mind if i sit?" They ask,
*If you want, and if they have a form of higher vision like truesight or seeing invisability passivly, roll perception?*
"Go right ahead." Reirlin says, gesturing at the seat across from them.
*Yeah, I'll go ahead and give them a short-range truesight. They're 1/4 Solar after all, lol. Reirlin's passive perception is 23, and a 15 for perception check. Egrien has 18 passive, and 15 for a check.*
The gnome sits across from them, the humanoid staying standing
*Yep, that works* They both see some for of energy wrapped around the humanoids joint, glowing lightly, a bit more visable now that they spotted it
"So, where do you and your friend come from," Egrien asks, a rather curious expression on his face now that notices the energy fields around the gnome's companion.
"Out of.... town? This place kinda isn't around anything else, so town is the best i can say. We're from out of town."
"My friend, everyone here is from 'out of town'" Reirlin says with a laugh. "The question is, where is your home?"
"Here and there, though i originally came from a small colony. We called ourselves Tinker village, mostly cause we almost all had a knack for certain electronics"
"Interesting. We're originally from a city called Kerrodale, on the shores of a massive inland sea by the same name, on the continent of Hyperia in our world." Egrien says. "We don't have any 'electronics' as you called them in our world, although the city we are from, and a few on the shores of the ocean, have started to experiment with harnessing the power of storms for various purposes."
"So you don't have electricity fully?" They ask
"Not even remotely. A few of the larger cities have started to experiment with it, especially our home city, as we have a large number of wizards and artificers, but very little is truly electrified."
"Interesting," They sip their mug of ale, "So my home was more advanced than yours."
*Also tired. Got sleep, but didn't do much for me rn*
*Yeah... Rest is hard. And I still have 0 good character ideas*
*List some off for me :)*
*I have none*
*Aw, sadness*

"Please."
*I should probably sign off here, so I'll pick this up later.*
"Alright then, follow me." Soldaer drains his glass of Feywine, as well as the other glass, collects them and the bottle, and after sliding the dragon tooth dagger back into his bracer, and starts walking upstairs.
*Also tired. Got sleep, but didn't do much for me rn*
*Yeah... Rest is hard. And I still have 0 good character ideas*
