*The King of Yellow is a classic. Nice use of it.*
*thanks! I was reading some stuff about it and suddenly had an idea when I remembered that Carcosa was described as lost and dim, so I decided that if there’s a king, there could also be a prince. A prince who’s trying to save Carcosa*
*That's pretty cool. I loved that old Carcosa tavern that Baalzeboop made a while ago. It would be cool if it was resurrected. Did you ever read the Inhabitant of Carcosa? It is an even older short story that had to have inspired the King in Yellow. That could be a good thing to research.*
*I haven’t read it, but I do know the plot. It’s super cool*
*ha that would be perfect! I do also eventually want to include some plot line with the True King in Yellow Itself, because it’s sort of the Prince’s enemy. I mean, they never fought or any thing. The king would win anyways, but the King, as the Prince mentioned, is directly opposing the Prince because it refuses to help and is instead being angry and vengeful. But yeah the domains of dreads would be perfect!*
*oh and if you were wondering exactly how powerful the Prince is, they couldn’t really yet be considered a great old one, but they’re pretty close. Imagine like a more fragile but just as heavy hitting greatwyrm*

*Okay, might be time to start a dedicated reading list lol.*
*It is a good one to read if you like the King in Yellow. My reading list is ridiculously long right now.*

*There is a youtube channel called Tale Foundry that has some great videos analyzing the meaning behind the King in Yellow. I also love how practically everyone affected by it was an artist. The King is almost like an imaginative disease that plagues the minds of those who give themselves up to creativity and decadence. That's why it is my favorite cosmic horror being, if you can even call it that.*
”I have tried. Three hundred and twenty-two other worlds. None of them were habitable for the citizens of Carcosa. But this planet is. If there is another planet that can sustain Carcosa, I haven’t yet found it. But possibly…”

“There are a great many domains that might suit your purposes. Lands controlled by oppressive rulers, filled with angry peoples who would welcome any change with open arms.”

*yep, I’ve watched Tale Foundry! While the Prince is different in quite a few ways from the king, I definitely took some inspiration when making them. But I’ll lean even more into that idea you just mentioned once I actually start using the King in Yellow in the plot here*
*gtg, likely permanently. Before I do, I wanna ask: Dark, have you read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and if so, what did you think of it? It’s currently at the top of my reading list.*

*I am ashamed to say that I haven't read the real thing. I've read abridged versions so I know what it is about and I own a very nice copy with an amazing cover that is begging to be read, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I love books with a naval side to them.*

*Well, I almost had a mental breakdown today. Apparently, I am the only scheduled worker for 5-9 and 5 is when all the people come in so I had a line of people. I had to get my associate who works behind the Customer Service Desk to help me out. When I was done, I was literally on the verge of tears. My managers, Kristina and Ryan, saw this and called me up to the Managers office. They said it seemed like I was having a rough day and wanted to know if I was alright. I broke down in front of managers, I am embarrassed. But they helped me, asking me what happened and I explained I got to have more people on the 4-9 shift because to many people keep coming in. They said they understood and will look into it.
Anyways... I am sad.*
*hug*
*it's ok to be sad, and it's perfectly normal to have a rough day in those types of situations. You're super awesome and I know you'll be able to recover ^^*
*self care is super important, and taking breaks is never a bad thing lawrence :>*
