"Good. Now come here." He spreads his arms, supposedly to hug her. His spine remains as rigid as always, but he doesn't look particularly uncomfortable waiting for her.
"Our god, Volstadt, was actually the one who told me about you! H-he's the patron deity of strugels, giants, and werewolves. Oh, and volcanoes and m-meat. He said that if I looked into you, I might find some common ground and have someone to look up to! I-I t-thought he was wrong at first, then I learned about you from one of his coworkers, Sytosc, and you just seemed so cool I had to go and meet you for myself!" He fidgets some more. "You just, like, seem like a really great guy..."
She flops into his arms like a sad cat.
William laughs lightly "Well, if you would like, I would love to have you in my kitchen. I could use some help after all."
He holds her with surprising strength, given that he's far shorter than her. "We're not watching this." He begins to walk away from the smoldering town. "So, you choose: where are we going?"
He looks back up. "I-I would love to learn from you, sir." He takes a deep breath. When he speaks again, he doesn't stutter, and his accent is mostly quelled. "My family has a very successful business on Honkachu island, and they have granted me a good deal of wealth for this pilgrimage. It is only proper that I offer you some money in turn for getting to work in your kitchen, as I am not an apprentice or employee." He holds out his paws, holding several golden coins. It couldn't be more than 30GP, which isn't much for an adventurer but would be quite a sum for a laborer.

"Can I go to your factory?" She quietly asks.
William laughs lightly and offer them half of a red pepper, a snack apparently as he cuts one for himself as well and munches on it "That's exactly it. I want to see how you do and then I'll decide if I want to hire you." He said "In all honesty, I am honored you think of me this way. No one really sees behind that veil and rarely I show it to others.. but you, you are a keen fellow."

"Of course." His voice has resumed its usual candor. He walks toward his factory.
The strugel takes it with glee. "Thank you, sir!" He gobbles down the bell pepper and removes his chef's hat, revealing wild purple hair beneath. He then puts on a hair net and cloth mask to avoid contamination of the kitchen, and does a little happy dance, drumming his footpaws on the ground.

She struggles around a bit, she has been carried before but it feels like she is child getting scolded at he moment.
*Why am I loving this character so much. Reminds me of Pipi.*
William watches and nods "Do you know how to make Beef Stroganoff?" He asked.

He brings her to the factory and sits her down on a lounge couch in his office.
*Everyone loves him for some reason. I've been told that it's my writing, not the characters themselves that make them beloved, as my characters typically suck according to that person.*
He nods. "My family thought I was weird for making it since wheat-based pastas like egg noodles are kind of rare on Honkachu, but I decided that if I was going to meet you I needed to know your cuisine! I practiced all sorts of Italian dishes for months, so that I could be sure I had a firm grasp on the very basics at least."

*He's also a mad culinarian constantly on the brink of a breakdown, but yes.*
"Oh, almost nothing, really. I wanted to be able to learn your techniques quickly without having to unlearn much. It takes a longer time for me to unlearn than it takes to learn." He smiles. "Oh, wait, you mean of your work? I know the names, pictures, and prominent reviews on all your dishes and the Red Plate in general. I've learned about you from former employees, and they all speak glowingly of you once they have their tongues put back in! Speak with dead is an amazing spell, let me tell you..."

"Of course I did, man!" He squeaks. "I mean, sir. I'm a cook, not a necromancer! Well, actually, those two job descriptions are like, surprisingly similar. Just, like, I try to be careful."

I want to spend my life
