The old school guys I like most are Perez, Kevin Maguire, Jiminez, Jurgen, Ross, Byrne, Campbell (j scott), Adam Hughes, the Romitas, Ditko.
Abigail Larson, Fiona Staples, Mariko Tanada, I'm sure there are more but I only dive into comics on a quarterly basis, and I'm pretty narrow (comixology stuff).

A related question to the unrelated question which is actually a related question in this thread of unrelated questions: What are your favorite comics? Is there a comic book publisher, artist, or writer that you especially love? Is there a series that you have followed/collected?
My favorite comic writer and artist is Mike Mignola and I devour everything of his that I can get my hands on. Hellboy is the greatest comic I have ever read. A few other comics I enjoy are Concrete, Manifest Destiny, Trese, Sandman, and V is for Vendetta. I really like the smaller indie stuff over the big name publishers. That being said, I still like a lot of Marvel stuff like Moon Knight, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Spiderman, and X-men. I actually own the original origin story for the Watcher, the Owl, Crimson Dynamo, and the Puppet Master. I haven't read much DC. The only Batman series I have ever read was by Mike Mignola and he turned it into a cosmic horror.
Most of my stuff that I enjoy is older (well, because I am older... lol) So right off the bat - Byrne for sure. He was literally my introduction to comics with Uncanny X-Men #121. I was so blown away by both the X-Men team as well as Alpha Flight. Right behind him would be Sal Buscema, because Avengers #159 was given to me at the same time. And his art on Avengers is amazing. If we go forward a bit - there's Bob McLeod, whose work on New Mutants was mind blowing. Mark Bagley for his work on Spider-Man, but more specifically New Warriors. Marc Silvestri for his work on X-Men, then later over in Image with Cyberforce. Jim Lee, naturally, for his work on X-Men then later over at WildCATS. Andy Kubert for his work in several titles (but I think I first saw him in X-Men). And there's no way I can skip Wendy Pini for her work on ElfQuest (the original 20 issue run is still one of my all time favorite comics ever). JRJR is another I am normally not a fan of (flat looking faces - but his work during Jurgen's THOR book was so perfect!)
There's so many - there's Jack Kirby, Len Wein, and others I could go on to name, but I feel like they're classics that seem obvious.
Interestingly, artist styles change over the years. So some of their newer stuff (those with still us) miss the mark sometimes for me.

Fiona is behind the Saga book right? If so, while normally not my style of art, I actually really enjoy hers. Though I've not read an issue of Saga since like issue ... 10?... or so.
Monstress is really up there among my favorite fantasy works. I've also read through Neil Gaiman's Sandman, which was spectacular. I'm a big fan of Batman comics, and Justice League Dark.

yeah, and boy, have you missed a lot, including a long break both Vaughn and she took. I subscribed through Amazon, so it shows up on my kindle when a new issue drops. Last one I have is #66. I grabbed the omnibuses before the Compendium came out -- you can get 1 through 54 (when they took a break) in a single book (Saga Compendium).
I have now reached a point where I have to point out that I am not a person who knows anything about comics. I mean, that would be just silly for me. I know more about sports than I do comics, you see; you know, stuff like how you score a touchdown by batting the ball through the hoop then running the bases and stuff like that.

I can recall books and art but not the artists and writers.
Nemesis the Warlock, Judge Dredd, Alien Legion, Alpha Flight, Appleseed, The original black and white TMNT - the first time I saw a bloody death in a comic.

I am of the opinion that Stan Lee was one of, if not the most influential artist of the 20th Century. More people grew up learning lessons from the works he inspired than anything else I can think of. Considering his characters made it okay to discuss such subjects as (to name a few):
The civil rights movement
Racism in general
Mental/emotional health issues
Domestic violence
Sexual/gender identity
Wealth inequality
Native American rights
He positively influenced generations of people’s opinions on some of the most pressing social issues of our time. I shudder to think where we would be today as a society without his work.

I read astounding amounts of Archie while I was, like, 5. It basically taught me how to write. Which was great for me, because it put me ahead of all the non-Archie-reading 5-year-olds, but horrible for anybody who wanted to read the things I wrote, because I never recognized that some sentences deserve punctuation other than exclamation marks and question marks. I understood periods on a conceptual level, I just couldn't comprehend why anybody would ever want to use one.
I haven't read Sandman, but I've both listened to and watched all of it that is available to listen to/watch. I've heard that the audio adaptation is pretty faithful to the original, and the TV adaptation seemed pretty faithful to the audio adaptation, and they were both very very good. Neil Gaiman is probably my favorite writer.

I read Sandman. I found it very compelling, though it's hard to say whether I liked it.
I've never been big into comics. On a whim I read a lot of the Immortal Hulk run. I'd heard some interesting things about it but none of that stuff showed up in the handful of arcs I read. It was intriguing but too interested in cross-referencing other comics for me.
I like Kill Six Billion Demons. That's a wild ride.

Well, things like Ms. Marvel (whether the original, Carol who is now Captain Marvel), Runaways, or Power Pack - I know they've done graphic novels of each of those - but a lot of those are collections of individual comics (and/or omnibus of them).
I freaking loved the original Power Pack run in the comics. Some of the later newer (well, post the original series) series stuff, where the art was more... eh... anime-esque... was definitely not for me.
I'm really not sure about the caster level = spell level thing. I understand the desire for it but which spells do you put where? Is fireball a level 5 spell? or is a weaker version level 3 but you can upcast it? If you pump the level 9 spells to level 20 then most of them will never see the light of a campaign.
The flip side then - why call it a Level 3 spell if a 3rd level caster can't cast it?
Is that somehow logical? Because to me, it's the one thing that's never been logical to me.
Upcasting (to do more damage) for spells would still operate the same.
Why call it the 2nd level of a dungeon if a 1st level character can explore it?
Is the proposal to have 20 different levels of spells, or to only have spells of level 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17? Either way is going to be tougher and more confusing than the current system. If it really bugs you, following Dorsay's advice and changing the name of the spell tiers to, I dunno, tiers or something, would fix the problem in a very simple way.
Just found this, I think it describes everything pretty well.

Speaking of comics, I just picked up a toy from McFarlane of Superman in this armor, seen in Superman: Unchained. It's unbelievably cool.
What in Hades is going on with Superman's leg that is extended downward (extending out of the base of the... shaft of light? Volcano? Whatever)? It looks like both of his legs side by side - but that can't be because his one leg is clearly bent, so that his leg and foot are behind his knee...
How do you make Players feel like the Gods of your World are "real" and "present"?
Nymphs. They're visible, they hang out, you can talk to them, and they're connected to a whole bunch of different things. They might not technically be gods, but they are dieties (I'm still working out the terminology).
Wizardry. I made a point of wizardry being sourced from all the gods. Like, you aren't just casting sleep or hypnotic pattern or whatever, you're channeling the power of Hypnos himself.
Demigods. They're people, they hang around, they often occupy various seats of power, and they're undeniably divine.
Temples. You're in a temple to a god, and you start saying "this god is bad," chances are you'll get cursed and/or smote. They're usually consecrated so that their respective gods can hear and interact with people in them, though they usually don't do that second thing unless you piss them off or give a damn good reason to help you.
Shawls. Specifically Shawls of the Gods. They're pretty widespread (especially in Axis Mundi), and they allow you to pray to a god with tangible benefits (advantage).

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny.
