The pod folds open, revealing a small coffin-like chamber filled with some sort of gel, which is now draining. As the chamber finishes draining, it cracks open and a figure steps out.

The figure steps onto the red sand and looks up before tilting their head, as though listening to something. A moment later, several larger pods drop from the ship in orbit, all targeted in the same general vicinity.

A spaceship lands near the Beta Outpost. A squid like creature in a silver spacesuit basically resembling an illithid steps out onto the surface of the planet and begins walking in the direction of the outpost.

*This is Sss’thorr. S for short. They are an agender alien being who uses they/them pronouns.*

Sloan hears the landing. “Woah, what was that?!”

The massive pods lower gently to the ground, a lot slower than the first pod. The suited figure strolls to the closest one as it unfolds like a flower, revealing crates upon crates of supplies and resources.

A long day of work in the Northern Hemisphere later, the suited person has constructed a large generator-type machine. As they switch it on, the entire area goes dark to all radio signals, all radar, and, from a distance, even sight as a hazy shimmer obscures the region.

 S comes over the ridge and sees Sloan. They look startled but quickly regain their composure. “Hello,” they call out in a flowing accented English. “I come from the Ascendancy. What planet is this?”

Charles is outside working on a rover

The figure *my pfp* exits the hazy region on some sort of single-tracked rover, speeding across the landscape at about 80 mph towards the nearest base. *Which would be Ares base, I believe?*

All these new inhabitants cause a species to climb out of the underground, there’s about 20 of them, and they appear to be humanoid robots made from scrap metal, but each have something that looks like a small metal door on the back of their heads.Each robot looks slightly unique, with different features and tools.

They look around the surface, as if they are seeing the surface for the first time in centuries.

“Greetings! We are the Zemitala’crath, or the Zemit,” they speak in unison, and as if they are using a translation device.
