The Circus of Talents is just gone, Lady Lesso is a Reader now for some reason, also Readers are very rarely taken, Lady Lesso was the last one before Agatha and Sophie, also the School Master claims that he is the good one, rather then it being unclear. Also August Sader is just gone, the whole thing with the spirit of the Good School Master never happened, and so much more as well.
My cults are dead, let's talk about myself where they used to be. I am The_cool_Elsecaller, a transfem lesbian who is still in the closet to all but a few people I know IRL. I enjoy video games, reading, writing, and sleeping. Feel free to PM me if you want writing advice or just want to talk.

I still don't get why they removed August Sader. He is so important for Agatha's charter arc, he is the reasons major plot points in book three and book six even exist, and he is the establishing connection to at least three villains in the series! He is very important for a charter who dies in book one.

*sigh*
AND THEY STILL SET UP FOR A SEQUEL LIKE WTH ARE THEY GOING TO DO? Also the castles are on the wrong side, good is supposed to be on left, evil is supposed to be on right, oh well movie ruined.

I am currently working my way through Warbreaker, by Brandon Sanderson. I loved the Stormlight Archives and thought I would give this a try. I love the story but am less in love with the magic system of this world. But the characters, as always with Sanderson, are superbly written.
Also, I have added all the recommended readings in this thread to my list. <3
very cute cat also...
!!! LETS GO A SANDERFAN!!! *gets shushed by librarian* sorry about that. Brandon is definitely my fav author. A shame that you don't enjoy the magic system, but when you see what it's up against... yea. I have read everything Cosmere as well as the Reckoners and The Rithmatist (Oh, except for White Sand pt 3, but once I get my hands on it...), I am currently reading the Skyward series. Have you read Mistborn Era 2 btw? If you like we could take this to PM's if you don't want to spoil stuff for The_Summoning_Dark and other potential readers. Yeah I get really really enthusiastic about this stuff.
I have not read the Mistborn Era 2 yet but my best friend has and he won't shut up about it haha. I bought them already so they are on the list of books to read. Feel free to send me a PM though but be careful with me too on the spoilers. I only read the first two Stormlight Archives and was told to make a pitstop through Warbreaker before taking on Oathbringer. So far, it is an unusual recommendation to break from the series, as there seems to be literally no connection to Warbreaker yet (based on how Words of Radiance ended though, I am expecting the connection to be someone specific). I also have not completed Misborn Era 1. I got through the first book and was so excited by Sanderson's writing that my best friend wanted to drop the titanic Stormlight Archives on me. He had been holding it behind his back until I finished the first Mistborn so as to not intimidate me with the size of the series haha.
I do want to make sure I don't misrepresent my feelings on Warbreaker. I am enjoying it but the magic system, while interesting, pales in comparison to say, the power of a Radiant. The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance... I simply could not put them down. I lost hours of sleep because they were such page-turners.
Have any of you read the Serafina Series by Robert Beatty? It's a fun MG romp through the late 1800's/early 1900's at Baltimore Estate and the sounding wilderness.
Some notable thing in the Serafina Series are:
magic
violence (lots of violence)
orphans
a gothic atmosphere
PTSD
parental abuse, physical, verbal, and mental
good Native American representation
unique world-building based on folklore
beautiful proses
great character arcs (including a really good redemption arc)
a female protagonist who doesn't have the “I’m not like Other Girls” mindset
friendship
betrayal
healthy masculinity
a protagonist who after a character arc, learns to love her “deformed” body
the main friend/love interest being the protagonist’s best friend, someone who only ever treats her with kindness and respect
a narrative that is validating of adopted relationships
found family
chilling villains
mystery
good disability representation
the main friend/love interest walking with a limp and having a leg brace

So much more!
I haven’t read it but it sounds great.

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).
Same with the movies, the last season were rubbish. The first ones were unpredictable but then it just became Disney with one person saving the day.

It is! It's really, really good.
