another human is approaching the city, not a part of the original group. He is an old man, stumbling through the wasteland that is only starting to sprout with flowers and life. In his hands he holds a crown made of thorns and pale pink flowers. It radiates with traces of power. The old man has a blank expression, wandering towards the city without meaning.
Carso has plans so I'm gonna wait for him before doing anything with Cog or Faltros*
*Oh my gosh so sorry I forgot about my plan but here it is now*
From the city a bright light shines, enveloping the battlefield and everything around it with warmth, comfort and... peace. Floating down from on high, Raegus gently touches down on the ground, extending peace to all the mortals. Of course, his power has no effect on the Wills, but he speaks kindly to the mortals, on both sides. "You have sacrificed much in the name of your faith. Some for, and some against. But this is not your war to fight. This is between us Greater Wills. Now go home, be free and rest, for soon, you will see the victor of this mighty battle." The mortals all feel drowsy and calm and begin mobilizing back to their homes. But there is one who stands defiant in the midst of the gently retreating Godless Ones...
*It's ok. Also would it affect the undead portion?*
Faltros sees the leaving army and scowls. Not because of his retreating forces-- Cogintius's creations were gone-- but because of Raegus. "Ah, I forgot there were two fools," he mutters to himself.
He also sees the remaining figure. Are they still in the carrying thingy or no?
*they are no longer in the palanquin, as the carriers walked off as well*
Raegus replies in booming voice: "The only fool is the one who would bring the wrath of the gods upon them, and continue to fight a hopeless battle."
"What, you think I'm weaker then you?"
"Not in the slightest Faltros. But what you lack is allies, friends, people who will hold you up when you fall to your knees. We," he gestures to all the gods of good, "have something you can never have, and that is trust, love, and companionship. A single god may fall under your wicked power, but with us as one, you have no chance."
*hell yeah, beat him with the power of friendship!*
"I don't see any allies besides yourself that are currently conscious. And look at you! What power do you have over me? What will you do, ease my nonexistent grief? (He lets out a long, long laugh) I'm a manifestation of fear, terror, aggression. Don't trifle with me, Raegus. And either way, if you think you're the one that shall win, just ask our leader about it." He points his flame sword towards the remaining figure.
*Boinkkkkkkkkk*
Raegus' eyes flare with a righteous fury, burning bright. "You believe me weak?! I am first and foremost a God of comfort and peace but allow me to remind you."
"I rule over the souls of damned creatures! I rule over the night sky and the heavens! I control life itself!" As he names each of his domains, a manifestation of each appears. The bodies of dead people return to life, only to fall back limp. Meteors shower around them, and stars move through the sky. All life around him becomes full of growth, and then instantly withers and crumbles to dust.
"Don't be so bold. I control the dead, too. (The dead bodies rise once more, this time as ghouls) I can start wars between the mortals with a mere word (images flash of mortals fighting each other), or send them into a state of pure terror. (The images change to the mortals running away in terror). Make this easier on yourself and surrender now."
*Long post, so spoilering. Would spoiler the quote but idk how to do that*
"However, you forget something, Faltros. As Raegus said, one may fall before your power, but we shall unite against you." Cogintius stands up and points his spear at Faltros.
"What? No? It can't be!" Faltros looks shocked to see Cogintius alive. "You should be dead! At least not conscious right now!"
"Raegus was able to keep you talking while I regained consciousness. You certainly talk a lot."
"You. Will. Die!" Faltros charges towards Cogintius but misses.
"Enough of that. Allow me to show these mortals your true plan. To be frank, it's quite obvious." He snaps his fingers, and the cultists of the Godless Ones appear again, this time non-hostile.
"Allow me to lay out what I can garner about how you came to be part of the Godless Ones. You formed, somewhere and somehow. Then, as a demon of fear, a terror to humankind, you allied with said humankind. Why? To take out the gods? It's obvious, Faltros. You needed them out of the way.
Now, why would you need the Greater Wills out of the way? Once more, it's obvious. They're your greatest threat to your goal. Considering your evil nature, you most likely wanted the throne for yourself. If so, you would be a much more tyrannical leader then us. You planned to use the Godless Ones as pawns in your game. Am I correct?"
Faltros claps. Slowly. "Well. It seems the knowledge god finally became smart! Yes, all of that is correct. But what can you do to stop me? The prophecy dictates the gods shall fall."
"Prophecy? What prophecy? And who proclaimed it?"
"That would be me." The leader of the Godless Ones takes off their hood, revealing a man with a worn face. "I am an Oracle of the Old World. I used to dictate prophecies about world-changing events. Somehow, I survived it's destruction. The current prophecy is the one this traitor (he points to Faltros) is referring to. I believe you've probably heard it, it got out but we were able to patch it up by making it sound like it's our anthem." He clears his throat.
"Down, down come the leaves.
Do you believe,
Words of the gilded and gold?
Down, drenched by the rain,
Seared by the flame,
But branches shall loosen their hold." The man finishes the prophecy. "We assumed this is talking about you Greater Wills. The leaves coming down represents the Wills, 'do you believe words of the gilded and gold' meant not to trust you, drenched by the rain meant it would be a period of gloom for you-- or just that it would rain around the time of a major battle, which it did-- seared by the flame meant Faltros would help defeat you, since fire is one of his domains, and branches shall loosen their hold once again means you. But I believe I understand the true meaning now. We were merely blind to risk of failure and assumed the prophecy pointed to our victory.
Down, down come the leaves means we shall fall, not the Wills. Do you believe words of the gilded and gold doesn't mean not to trust you, but not to trust Faltros." The oracle turns to Faltros for a second, who is wearing armor with the smallest bit of gold trim. "Drenched by the rain doesn't mean gloom for the wills, it means gloom for us if we follow the fear demon. Why else would the next line be, 'Seared by the flame?" The oracle is nearly done finishing the explanation. "But Faltros's hold on this world shall be loosened now."
"An excellent explanation," Cogintius says. "And now to punish Faltros, and loosen his hold on this world as you said." He turns to Faltros. "You are to leave this land now and never return. If you are seen anywhere near civilization, you shall have a much less merciful fate. Is that understood?"
Faltros scowls, but nods. "Very well. You shall never see my face here again." He stands up. "17! Come with me." The 17 Warlocks gather around Faltros. Some look like they still are fine with following their patron, others look like they're regretting the deal they made. "Farewell, everyone. This will certainly be fun." He laughs, and pillars of fire envelope him and the 17 Warlocks. The pillars then vanish, and they are gone.
Cogintius seems confused by this, but heaves a sigh of relief. "The battle is finally over." The mortals clear out as Cogintius begins fixing the wreckage of the battle...
Faltros and his warlocks gathered in a small valley. There was no civilization anywhere in sight, just as that fool Cogintius requested. It was devoid of life, whether it be plants or animals or mortals, except for the fear demon and his loyal followers. There was nothing but bare stone, dirt and mud. Very well, then. Faltros could make do with this easily.
"Give me some time." Faltros declared to his warlocks. "I shall create our own realm to dwell in." The warlocks nodded, and Faltros turned. Using his power, he began making a hole. But not just any hole-- a tunnel. A tunnel to what would be Faltros's domain. It went down, down down, and then down some more-- until it began hollowing out into a cage, a large cave. The ceiling was a mile high, and it stretched out even longer. Faltros teleported throughout the cave, expanding it wherever he went. Eventually, he began filling it up with various things, such as pillars of obsidian, blood red crystals and flames, and a river made of fire leading to the centerpiece of this underground realm-- a giant obsidian palace with crimson windows, his new fortress.
But that wasn't all. No, not at all. He raised his flame sword to the sky, and spirits began to twirl around it. Not any good spirits, but the souls of the wicked and depraved. They begin taking form as specters, skeletons, even devils. Faltros laughs to himself as his underworld of the evil begins to take form. (Faltros is changing one of his domains. He is going from Fear, War, Fire and Undeath to Fear, War, Fire and Grave.)
"Oh, Cogintius,' he says, "You should have killed me when you had the chance."

the old man doesn’t resist or flee in terror, instead following the zombies mindlessly.
Cogintius is fixing the wreckage of the battle with the Godless Ones. It's going fairly easy, considering he's a god.
Faltros is sitting on a throne, with a table in front of him having the 17 seated at it. Meanwhile, a large amount of dragons have been released into the mortal realm that are terrorizing villages and such.
