Em waves to her. “Rootling! I don’t think I’ve introduced myself yet. I’m Em. I run most things around here.”

Em is a tlincalli woman wearing elaborate robes. She’s holding a book in one hand — Wisteria glimpses the title “Musings on Death and Deities.”

"I'm wisteria" She is a shy dryad of few words and fewer memories

“Pleasure to meet you. What brings you to the Barnacle?”

"Lord whistledown thought it best if I get a job."

“Among us filthy pirates? Lord Whistledown must be very trusting!”

"He's a sailor. Apparently he knows these...Types"

“Oooh, that’s interesting. Whistledown is his name, eh? Can’t say I’ve heard of him.”

"Cassius whistledown."

“Hm. I’ve known several Cassiuses, but none with a name quite as silly as “Whistledown.” Ah, well. Glad you’re here, I s’pose.”

After he walks away, the person with the cup spills their drink on the table. Everyone gets angry at him, and he notices the creature slip away into the floorboards, following him. He looses track of it once the spell wears off though, but he eventually hears the creaking of floorboards very close to him, although he’s the only person in the room.

 He leaves his eyes closed, clutching his holy symbol and praying as the smoke of the incense, herbs and oil fill the room. He says out loud, "You know, it isn't polite to sneak up on someone."

 Something crawls onto a desk/chair or something behind him.

”You know, it isn’t polite to banish someone.” it responds, with a deep voice.

 Still leaving his eyes unopened, he responds, "I may be being hasty, but I haven't seen any clues that you have good intentions for us. Tell me about yourself, I can be persuaded to leave this spell uncast. But you better be d[gp]n convincing."

 “What have I done to harm any of you? Nothing. Why should you immediately distrust me?”

 "A charming spell. A screaming music box. Hiding yourself from our senses. No harm has been done, but no especially trustworthy actions either." After a long hesitation, Jack opens his eyes and extinguishes the incense. "I apologize for my excessive caution, but I have grown fond of this crew, even recieved an offer to join them. I beg of you, do no harm to them." His back remains turned, but he begins to stand up.

 Jack finally says, "I'm going to rest. This time, maybe don't start screaming?" He let's out a small chuckle and a little smile begins to spread across his face. He leaves the room, and goes to the quarters.

 “No harm will come to the crew by my paws, I promise.” It chuckles. And then, the creature disappears from the room into another part of the ship.

Jack has a rough time falling asleep. Being a cleric, all these dark creatures boarding are worrying to him. He eventually falls into an uneasy slumber.

Alistair is talking quietly with Em, a serious expression on his face.

Nothic is bored.

 Hayano, desperate to prove his samurai skills, goes hunting for the Captain, who's hunting for monsters. Maybe he could be of assistance. Plus, exploring the island sounds very cool.
