I would ask y’all to rate one of my characters... but I don’t think most people know any of my characters that well.
I know a few pretty well (mostly Barnacle/Gut characters), but definitely not all of them
Random questionnn
out of all of my characters, which one do you like the most and why?
I love the God Larva, because it’s just such a creative take on the concept of Kuo Toa gods. The idea really appeals to me, and it was executed in a really clever way.
Second is Aunt Pleasant. She’s interesting and funny, with a backstory that has loads of potential.
Third is the Music-Box-Creature, which was really interesting/creative/mysterious. Honestly, I still have no idea what the heck it really is. It’d be fun to see more of it, maybe in other taverns.
Honorable mentions are Sylvi and Tily, but they’re — while still fun to interact with — a lot more vanilla than the others.

Kapar from YonStore. Was a long time ago, and may not be one of your favourites, but he was pretty cool. Was surprisingly good at hiding the fact he was a bridge troll, and I remember him being very friendly

Sylvi and Tily were basically made because I needed a character on the bloody barnacle that was slightly easier to interact with. I do have some plans for them eventually, probably after the eldritch horror arc and stuff. (It’ll probably involve some combat encounters, if that’s fine with u*
Music box- i’m not even gonna try and explain music box, the best way to describe them is a fey that eats frustration that really doesn’t like that it has to do that.
and the Kuo Toa god larva is one of my favorites too, same with Aunt pleasant.
i really like the Captain on the bloody barnacle, especially since they used a reflavored vampire statblock and I’m currently going through another vampire obsession.

Thanks! (There’s a seeeecret reason why his stats are that way, but I probably won’t get into it till cosmic horror times)
Kezzolan, Betrayer of Netheril, First of the Nothics
Intro:
In the darkness of night, there’s a tiny flutter of blackness. It goes unnoticed for several minutes, before it happens again, and again. Gentle fluttering, darker blackness against the murky night. Tiny little legs of gloom, struggling to break free of each other.
Then, all at once, the legs move. They spread open with a great burst of movement, and beneath them sits an eye. The legs — now revealed to be eyelashes — rustle gently as the eye blinks once, twice, three times. Its iris is yellow, its pupil a bright white, bloodshot with black veins.
Slowly, as though waking from a nightmarish slumber, the creature begins to move. It stands and becomes fully visible. Craggy shoulders covered in broken arrows, patches of scabby scales, all a dull grey accented with a gloomy shade of purple. The creature is massive, standing roughly at the height of a hill giant. It holds in its right hand a golden flask filled with fine wine.
This is the demon Kezzolan, betrayer of Netheril, first of the nothics.
Kezzolan stands, breaking free of the gloomy darkness. He offers a friendly wave.
Active In: The Universe Smörgåsbord (original), The Lord’s Rest Inn, The 2-Story Tavern, The House of Cato, The Bloody Barnacle (secretly, heheh)
Traits: 7/9
Courage. Knowingly cursed Netheril in an unspecified fashion, eventually leading to its downfall.
Unfair Injury. Was aware that his betrayal would curse him, but went through with the plan anyway
Skill. Has an extensive array of skills with an emphasis on the arcane
Funny. He oftentimes cracks jokes and has an easy friendliness that contrasts his fearsome appearance
In Danger. Is being hunted by extraplanar mages
Obsessed. Singlemindedly focused on the obtainment of knowledge and secrets
Let me try the Likeable Character test... with my god of darkness who despises humanity.
Courage- Is willing to take on the forces of light despite being obviously outclassed
An Unfair Injury- Lost his spouse to the forces of light, and that spouse is now in constant torture while all Crie can do is watch
Skill- Uses trickery and charisma instead of the raw, literally deitic power he possesses. Also is the sole source of magic.
Funny- He used to be, but he doesn't have a lot to joke about these days
Nice- Not on a general level, but he can be very nice to individuals who he gets to know
In Danger- He is the danger. His original purpose in my story was to be a threat and nothing more.
Loved by Friends and Family- He makes an excellent friend if you get to know him. Or at least he tries to be. He's lost his old flame and doesn't want to lose another loved one
Hardworking- Absolutely. He's always scheming and inventing terrible things.
Obsessed- Even more than hardworking. He wants to free his spouse, the Sovereign. The issue is that the Sovereign is also the Earth, and the forces of light don't quite know what will happen if the earth suddenly becomes sapient and can move on its own.

A massive plant-like creature, little more than a tangle of vines protected by detailed bark-like material, enters. Flowers and mushrooms sprout from its head, and small beetles crawl across its leafy shoulders. The creature has no obvious facial features, but as warmth and sunshine radiates from an amber object lodged in its heart, you can tell it’s smiling.

Active In: Explorer’s Hollow (Original; Now Inactive), 2-Story Tavern, Lord’s Rest Inn
Traits: 5/9
Skill. Has a unique command over plants, as well as other unspecified druidic powers
Funny. Known to crack jokes, especially self-deprecating ones
Loved by Friends and Family.
Hardworking. Works as gardener for several tavern-keepers

I like Corvin the best, mostly because he’s the one I’ve interacted with the most, but also because he’s really nice and goes out of his way to be kind and helpful to Kayla and other people as well. Plus he has an unfair injury with the whole curse thing.

Thanks! Anyone else like to save their favorite intros, or is that just me?
I've never saved them, but I often dig through posts to look back on them. I usually do so to find something I referenced in it, a specific detail, or to remember the characters name. I'm bad about that.
Alright let’s do one of my Older characters from Adventurer’s legacy.
Ekorre the Ratatosk and divine servant of Ratatoskr:
Courage: Ekorre would literally fight an elephant if one of his friends was in danger, although they would avoid physical combat and just send it to The plane of fire or something, because they’re just an angelic squirrel.
unfair injury: not really
skilled: they’re a really good spy
funny: within a day of being introed he had already tied for first place in the opinions of some people at the tavern as funniest character- or well, having the most hilarious insults.
nice: usually not
in danger: Angering level 20 adventurers usually isn’t the best idea
Loved by friends and family: they had a few good friends
hardworking: absolutely, they will go out of their way to eavesdrop on all conversations nearby.
Obsessed: they are determined to learn everything about everyone
Tavern idea, it's a modern-day Walmart but Medieval fantasy adventurers keep mysteriously and magically being transported there, it would be SO FUNNY and just good fun in general. *picks up a hobby horse* what's this, my good sir, some kind of magical mount? Giddy up, sir Charleston von Suffolk III! *employee watches in bewilderment*
Also idea for a twist, but of course I couldn't say that out loud ;)

I think most roleplay characters can be courageous unless you specifically roleplay them as a coward.
You better watch out you better not cry you better not pout I'm telling you why. Murderers are coming to town.

Flint wasn't exactly courageous (no offense Dutch). He nearly always high-tailed it out of most dangerous situations that I saw him in.
Goes to show that you can have an extremely likable character who isn't unreasonably brave or courageous.
Always two maybe three
